    General Waddellian, Riptidian, Funchian

I think the defining feature of your cube environment is how "agressive" it is, Waddel. Like, you run half a dozen strip mines and yet Crucible of Worlds is not overpowered because it's not fast enough.

    Ravnica's 9th District

I remember thinking 8th and 9th edition were very similar back in the day. They aren't (8th still has some old-school cards like Karma) but they should be very close.

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

It blanks all removal, allows creatures to become unblockeable and can make another creature tank a huge threat. That's a lot for one mana. Like Trainmaster says, it can fit in a mid-power cube but it's not low power at all.

    Ravnica Remastered

I've been drafting your cube and it's a lot of fun. Despite being mostly a retail format all the cards feel fun. I don't know how different it is from the original, it seems more dense and better. Still, is it me or is there more play to many of the common/uncommon cards than in newer sets? It...

    General Fight Club

Stronghold, no question. Great lightning, composition and pose. I also like the colours and it has a great flavour text. 7h Edition: Awful, clumsy and amateurish. Onsalught: Like most of the block, ugly and poorly shaped. They didn't have an art director at the time and it shows. Funny flavour...

    Inscho's Graveyard Combo Cube

Still, would you say you have been increasing the power level since you first toned it down? I'm curious.

    Inscho's Graveyard Combo Cube

Can Vesperlark bring back Multani and Fiend Artisan? Or do they have different power while they are in the graveyard as well?

    Inscho's Graveyard Combo Cube

Inscho, is your newer version of the cube just an excuse to play Vesperlak? Just wondering.:D

    Inscho's Graveyard Combo Cube

I've found Wildfire-like decks like to be WR. You can actually build many atypical control or midrange decks in that shell using cards like Sevinne's Reclamation, Land Tax, Cataclysm, Seismic Assault, etc. The main issue is that most WR creatures are not defensive.

Any recommendation for green 1-drops that are NOT mana dorks?

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

Venser is a great design. He is generically good, but he also costs four mana. If you play him as an expensive remand, that's not great. Getting the best out of him and his feeble body is interesting and fun.

Erik's "The cool side of Magic" cube

I feel weird. I've been coming here everyday, trying to polish my cube. And now it seems it's almost complete with only one card up or down that I can change. Time to do just that and refloat my thread on the other one?

    Card/Deck Low Power Card Spotlight

Moonveil Dragon I'm sorry but this card has a kickass art. Is it actually decent or just a Shivan Dragon?

Erik's "The cool side of Magic" cube

So I went and played my cube with two other people. It was fun and it was a real test of fire for my cube. The first was an old Netrunner buddy. The guy is a great card game player though he hadn't played Magic in more than a decade. The second was a newcomer to my club, who had played a lot...

Erik's "The cool side of Magic" cube

Is drawing cards the best effect in gaming? At least I think so. I'm meeting a friend today so yesterday I took a list of all the changes I've done on my cube, added a bunch of random cards I thought of and went to the printer to make some proxies. Sadly, I did not print Valakut Exploration to...

Erik's "The cool side of Magic" cube

Those are all great suggestions Nanonox. I've actually considered them before! I decided against Liliana and Flesh Carver because both are a bit too powerful, at least at a glance. This is why I run baby Liliana, for example. I'll probably add Call of the Herd right now. I did not include it...

Erik's "The cool side of Magic" cube

Yesterday I did the full set of archetypes for each color pair: UW Blink UB Reanimator UR Discard UG Self-Mill WR Tokens WG Convoke (Earthcraft) WB Hatebears (Humans) GR Lands GB Recursive Rock BR Aristocrats Three color combinations are not as solid. I have shards that are great and...

    General Fight Club

Ultimately,w hile Mask of Memory requires you to run through some hoops, it does give you card advantage. With extra filtering at that. Zephyr Boots is card disadvantage only to turn a creature into a looter and give it flying.
