Goose is better than Birds in many archetypes.

I actually think Goose is bad design, regardless of Oko. One-drop dorks that tap for rainbow colors are too efficient. There’s a reason why WorC stopped printing Birds of Paradise in Standard.

    Sets [ELD] Throne of Eldraine

We got a Monty Python reference. It’s the knight who has to attack every turn and comes with four +1/+1 counter “limbs” that are removed one at a time each combat.

These alternative cube rules are fascinating! Maybe someone should start a splinter thread for the discussion so it doesn't get lost to the mists in the middle of this thread?

Snow is a bad mechanic, yet has a lot of rabid fans, so yeah this was probably a good way to placate them using the smallest slice of product resources. I think one of the preview articles on the mothership explicitly says this. They wanted to do full-art snow basics as a way to drive...

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

Random assortment of utility lands doesn't really scream out as a cycle to me. If anything, I'd be looking for the other artifact lands if I saw the red one because that card implies a cycle.

    General Modern Horizons

The set was explicitly designed for enfranchised players, so yeah you're probably not going to appreciate all the little nods to older stuff if you're a newer player. There is also admittedly a lot of tribal stuff in the set, which I also generally don't care for in cube. On the other hand...

Maybe we could make a welcome post to pin at the top and/or a short blurb on the front page to welcome MTGS refugees?

Decks/archetypes no longer using their namesake mechanic isn't that rare in Magic. See Affinity in Modern, etc. If someone said they had a madness archetype in their cube, I'd assume that it could either be A) literally built around the mechanic or B) just shorthand for discard value. I would...

This is actually kind of anti-synergy with storm, since the spliced spell isn't considered to be cast. Or is there another angle I'm missing?

ROUND ONE Fecundity vs Ulvenwald Mysteries I'm leaning toward Fecundity because I like breaking symmetrical cards and Mysteries seems a little bit more safe and mid-rangey, but some other opinions couldn't hurt! ----- ROUND TWO Bestial Menace vs Crested Herdcaller vs Reach of Branches...

I might test this in place of Carrion Feeder. Menace means it can get in early for a few points in places where Feeder would get stalled out, and I think getting two counters instead of one is worth the mana cost in the activation.

    Card/Deck Low Power Card Spotlight

It can go in either, to be honest. Lots of monocolored cards work best in certain guilds, so there’s no shame in making it a Golgari-leaning green card. It can also fit into a guild section since even though it can go in any green deck, Golgari ones will value it higher.
