Weirdly I don't mind Loxodon Smiter. I guess it's because it's multicolored? I think it's a fun sweet card in how straight forward and dumb it is, but I also am not super happy about the idea of playing mono colored 3/4 creatures for 3
I dunno, when I saw "wide theme" I mean that a theme (while maybe rooted in a pair or a triad) can be drafted with many or any color pairs. So really the fixing can be whatever.
Really really hoping this isn't just a one off because flashback might be one of my favourite keywords and it would fit with the self mill stuff in the set
Battleee cryyy!
I'm super happy about this because I like battle cry but I also want a certain density of cards with a given mechanic, and so far there's only so many playable cards with battle cry.
This card looks up my alley.
I would say from an accessibility standpoint that you'd probably need to run a certain amount of cards with explore before running this card considering it does not have a reminder text for the explore ability.
Although maybe the Map token will?
I mean, presumably you have a play group for which you would get your practical definition of excitement from, since those are the people you'd want to execite with your cube.
I think that attacking and blocking is fun enough that vanilla-ish creatures are actually pretty great. I think vanilla creatures with spells like doom blade and lightning bolt and vapor snag is pretty appealing.
Also, black artifact creatures (worth playing) are somewhat rare. In my mind a clear upside of the goofy universes beyond is that we get more stuff like that.
I know "flavor flavor flavor" but I feel like there's a number of cards in this set that says "Dalek" in the rules text that might as well have said "Artifact Creature".
