Black has plenty of toughness limited removal. Darkblast Grasp of Darkness Dismember Disfigure Last Gasp It's just, if I'm spending 1BB on a removal spell, I expect to kill something big. Maybe the lifegain makes it worth it, but I'm skeptical.

Cultivator of Blades looks cool. 3GG Fabricate 2 When ~ attacks, other attacking creatures get +X+X, where X is ~'s power. Like someone on mtgsalvation put it, it's either a reasonable Pathbreaker Ibex or a Wild Beastmaster that comes with its own friends to buff. Very cool design.
