Erik's "The cool side of Magic" cube

Thanks a lot for the post Nanonox. I agree I could support the deck that way, I actually run many of these cards so it's not out of the question. However, I'm looking at my cube and I'm just a handful of cards away from completing it. So I think I'm going to complete it, print the cards, take...

I think the only cubeable fork effects are, in order of usefulness: Sea Gate Stormcaller The Mirari Conjecture Expansion // Explosion

Erik's "The cool side of Magic" cube

I agree it has become less one-dimensional than it used to be. I think one can support the archetype in a similar manner one can support artifacts by making some key additions and support in all colours. However, I've found an issue. Storm is, almost invariably, a spell-based archetype...

    Inscho's Graveyard Combo Cube

I cut Saheeli and never missed her. At the end of the day, UR Spells is versatile and interesting enough that it doesn't have to be a variant of tokens as well. I still keep Young Pyromancer and Monastery Mentory and I do still get the ocassional Spells-Token deck, but it's not necessary to...

Erik's "The cool side of Magic" cube

I really want to get my cube done with! Sadly, I'm still a few cards away and I don't really know what to do with those slots. I've taken notes up and down but I still haven't found cards I'm a hundred percent happy with. In my blue section, I want at least one graveyard payoff since the colour...

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

I run it with Champion of the Parish and it's enough to create a humans archetype. You can blink Thalia's Liutenant which makes it powerful, fun and ties it into more archetypes.

    General Fair

In Magic and other games, a card or deck is unfair if it breaks one of the fundamental aspects of the game. For example, Fastbond, Mox Jet and Mana Vault and "unfair" because they ignore and break the mana system: Fastbond Mox Jet Mana Vault Storm is the prototypical "unfair" deck. It doesn't...

    General Fight Club

It is not a good card and it is indeed much worse than Bone Shards. However, it does what you want in Inscho's environment. It's cheap, it's a discard outlet and it fills your graveyard a little.

Doesn't Wonder make games one-dimensional by giving the whole team unblockeable? Or am I wrong?

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

Champion of the Parish is a strong card but it's just a 1-drop beater and it's not the best out of them. So I wouldn't worry. I run both it and Thalia's Liutenant to support humans and they have been fine. However, my cube's power level is higher than yours. Since your cube is Black-centered I...

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

It's a good card and you can't go wrong with it. However, there are a couple issues with it that aren't immediately obvious. First, you cannot run it if you can't afford to exile all your cards. If your deck's win condition is Approach of the Second Sun, then running the card is quite iffy...

    "Fast" multiplayer cube

Skullclamp adds so much to your cube, I would keep it if it's being kept in check. You have plenty of powerful stuff and, while extremely strong, it fits into an inherently weak archetype. It doesn't seem like it would be an issue with several players around you to keep it in check.

    Sets (MID) Innistrad: Midnight Hunt

I think Reveillark is significantly more powerful. What makes Reveillark so great is that it constantly brings threats into the table. It's a 4/3 flyer on itself but, if you kill it, it brings two more threats to the table. Worse of all, it may bring back Eternal Witness, which will return the...

Erik's "The cool side of Magic" cube

Ok, while I wrangle about adding this or that card, let's start by adding two cards I'm fairly sure I should run: Jadal, Ghoulcaller of Nephalia Zulaport Cutthroat Both are versatile cards that should round up sacrifice decks, aggro and other decks. Some random stuff I'm considering: Mystic...

Of, I forgot you could just hit lands a couple times and see it do nothing. Yeah, I should cut it. So, any suggestions for random, interesting red cards that give card advantage?

    "Fast" multiplayer cube

I like the druid because it's a more interesting version of the effect and has a more relevant body than the alternatives. I'm a big believer that, if you can choose an unusual or more interesting effect for your cube, why not do that over the standard? I love Venser and Cloudskate but I agree...
