    Inscho's Graveyard Combo Cube

I think you are on the right path with your posts on Azorius Tempo and your updates. The only thing I see that may not work out is Trinket Mage. It's a very versatile card but the power level is low, much lower than Emry. I found it suffered heavily from 24th card syndrome which is I cut it. I...

I would have liked it if it gave the creature Indestructible but it wasn't indestructible itself.

Erik's "The cool side of Magic" cube

As you might now, I'm not a regular player of Magic anymore. For a long time now I've been more involved with other card games, like Netrunner and now Flesh and Blood. In fact, building the cube and talking with you guys has been the main reason I've been toying with it. Magic Arena was more of...

Card/Deck Make it shine: Harmonic Prodigy

I tried to run Harmonic Prodigy and it was fun, but narrow. The main issue is that it leans very heavily into Izzet Spell decks. While, theorically, it could slot into other decks, it's so much better in Izzet that it ends up being its main home. Notably, the power level of targets in blue is...

Tron is dangerous in so far you can build a fairly normal deck that just happens to get 4 extra mana if the game goes long. There were decks that assembled Tron by playing Tidings, it's not absurd. That said, Tron decks are not inherently broken. Expedition Map and very strong payoffs are the...

    General "Looking for a card"-Thread

The issue is that every card I want to add costs 3. And that's already the case in blue and, to a lesser degree, white. So I run into the issue of having too many 3-drops in the cube. So far I should try Expansion // Explosion. Is Faithful mending actually good? It's much worse thanFaithless...

Given the composition of my cube, can you recommend me cards for the Izzet and Azorious slots that aren't these four cards and, ideally, that don't cost 3 mana? Soulherder Sphinx's Revelation Rielle, the Everwise Fire // Ice

Erik's "The cool side of Magic" cube

It has been a long time since I last posted! I've been busy with my blog, saying goodbye to Legend of the Five Rings and getting into Flesh and Blood. But I still want to finish my cube and have fun with it. I'm also very close to doing so so it would be a shame to leave it alone. Some changes...

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

Ah yes, I knew having a discount on the top made it draw your deck but I had forgotten it still works superwell without it.

I think Blacksmithy is right. Your comparison was useful for me to agree with Backsmithy, though. It made me think of how different Future Sight is to Monk Class. Monk Class can draw you an extra card per turn assuming you've already played a spell and you didn't hit a land. In other words...

Monk Class What do you think? Does it actually work? Does it promote spell-heavy decks?

Pentavus is middling but it's stronger than it looks. First, it can fog creatures for 2 mana. Second, if you are ahead, it's very hard to get rid of as it can turn itself into many smaller creatures. It's certainly a creature from an older era of design, for better and worse.

    Sets (VOW) Crimson Vow

You can simply see this in cards like Cavalier of Gales. Having three different abilities was very rare for older cards, now three is common.

    "Fast" multiplayer cube

Lutri is literally a free card so I'm not sure if it would actually be any fun. I'm tempted to slot it in because I would love to have one fork but it's just...well, a free card. Or well, a fork that costs 6 mana. I don't know, I'm not sure it's a good design.

They are just 3 mana ramp, like Darksteel Ingot. I wouldn't consider Delirium to be part of their appeal. In fact the kind of decks that wants mana acceleration is rarely the same deck that plays with the graveyard. Like most 3-mana ramp, they are pretty weak. You might have a cube in which...

    General Fight Club

The point is that, were the artist a woman, you would have found Captain of the Watch every bit as lipstick-wearing and her armour every bit as inappropiate. Your critique is not of a male artist but of the way a woman was drawn. That's not the issue. The issue is that it's only women's bodies...

    General Fight Club

LSV lists Mox Ruby over Mox Jet in the MTGO Vintage cube and I agree. The reason is that the red decks are usually both stronger and more reliable than black decks. Opening with a Mox Ruby when you are playing Red Aggro is far more impactful than anything you can do with the black mana from Mox...

That's like saying Mondrian had the bad tendence of not using curved lines. Artistically speaking, most of the debate is nonsense. The artwork is not realistic and the armour is not meant for deflecting blows any more than the horned helmets are in an opera by Wagner. There's very little...

Erik's "The cool side of Magic" cube

Sigh's suggestions are great too, but harder for me to wrap my mind around. I've actually tried most of these, like Thrill of Possibility but they ended up being unnecessary. I'm going to add Rahda but I'm not sold on the rest. I liked Soulherder a lot but I feel I would rather replace Yorion...

Erik's "The cool side of Magic" cube

I'm going to follow your advice and add the Conclave, the Witch and the Khenra since they seem good easy options and I'll think about the rest :) The Witch didn't work last time I played it but it does a lot for the right archetypes. Thank you Nanonox.
