Do a goofy review on Amazon, get some free sleeves

This thread is definitely a long con by the Balduvian Trading Post guys to assassinate RiptideLab posters.

Their type box begs to differ Mr. Källqvist! :P In other news Ob Nixilis' lore is basically Gideon's mechanic?

God the page load in between those last two posts really sealed the deal for me. Also, might just be me but that CML post didn't read as curmudgeon-y to me. More just being wtf'd by prerelease card evaluation (which is something I sympathize a lot with)

    General Custom Cards: The Lab

My experience has always been sort of the opposite. Grabbing busted lands is the only thing that stops him from being just a stupid big green dude who does nothing. I do think Volrath's is the most compelling example of the attached 6/6 being a more relevant piece of the picture. But imagine...

Awaken is a good mechanic. Converge is basically just Domainburst, but is the only other mechanic that I think stands any chance of not just falling flat.

Well I'll be... they printed a somewhat non-poisonous ally. Tbh I think I'm okay with that shit tribe if they remove the "Allies you control" stipulation from enough of them.

General Re-examining The Basic Land Box

I thought about that too, but if I want to increase fetch density (and it sounds like I do, because as much as we rag on shuffling being shitty, fetches do a million good things), then I can't really give away the other good fixing for free and make you fight for the fetches, right? Besides...

General Re-examining The Basic Land Box

I want to push it really far first to see whether the goal is even worth achieving, then dial it back to a workable solution. Again, too lazy to do the math, but based on the stats in the other thread I gotta imagine that 30 doesn't push the number high enough. I'm not convinced that having a...

General Re-examining The Basic Land Box

@safra I agree that you want mana to be democratized. I'm significantly more in favor of those solutions than of draft multiplicative solutions, but thought it was worth throwing it out there as an idea. As for fetching for two duals and then playing a basic, I'm not sure what numbers get us...

General Print this Wizards! (So I can put it in my cube)

Not sure I'm down with territory, but you might be able to convince me. I guess the idea of spells that get better when you're flooded is cool from a theoretical standpoint. I like the mechanic on the Angel of Vengeance (I decided that's what we should call her). Unsure from a balance...

General Re-examining The Basic Land Box

@Turillazzo: I definitely feel like there's some interesting design space in your B2 idea. My thought process is for me to go out and check the outer bound for doing weird shit to improve mana, and then back into whichever implementation is the right one. It helps a ton to know that there are...

General Re-examining The Basic Land Box

This might be controversial enough that I should be posting it over at BTP instead, but here goes. The recent discussion of manabases in this thread (among a few others) sparked ideas for me about treating the "basic land box" differently than we have in cube thus far. I'm making some pretty big...

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

Thirst for Knowledge is too friggin pretty to cut. Am I the only one who hates treasure cruise? I really, really prefer dig through time. If I want two giant delve draw spells, I prefer two dig through times. Not saying I think DTT is more powerful, but it's certainly the card with more play. It...

I love FoF too and almost made that comparison. But can we not just run both? They're both way more interesting ways to draw cards than frigging Treasure Cruise. (And instants!)
