There are lots of good reasons to increase density of fixing, but in terms of variety of deck composition, don't you get more variety if Thallids is sometimes WG, sometimes BG, and sometimes WBG instead of always tricolor?
I'm going to need help playtesting an idea on Cockatrice, if you're willing to do it please PM me here or on Discord!
I'm also happy to playtest with others in weekday EST evenings or weekend EST afternoon / evening.
With 2 other artifacts/enchantments this is already quite powerful. +3/+3 for equip 2 with a body attached is not bad at all, and with, say, 4 other artifacts/enchantments, it's absurd. I think it's stronger than Cranial Plating.
Totally agree it can be too much. Cards that are simple and high agency are the best, because they get around a lot of the issues with high agency cards. I really like the cards I gave as examples, Bolt and Counterspell, because they are high agency without being overwhelming.
Laddering your...
Onder, first let me say I respect you a lot for being so patient.
If it was someone else that doesn't have a history of abuse, that might be true. And someone who doesn't abhor variance. But I'm not giving the benefit of the doubt yet again.
Exactly. His stated "goals" are a parody of cubes...
It sounds to me like you are creating a cube that's purposefully unfun so that you can contrast it with your cube philosophy and create a false dichotomy.
Honestly, a lot of what you state sounds really patronizing to me and designed to gaslight people. I feel verbally abused and I believe...
I think they tend to be low-agency for the caster, but some factors may swing them up to being high-agency.
Let's think of Armadillo Cloak. In situations in which you are under pressure and have to drop it to gain life and save yourself... well, you have to do it, regardless of how risky it is...
That's what attracts me most - Ragavan allows aggro to compete in value against slower decks, instead of going deeper into out-tempo'ing them. It's a value card for a tempo deck. It still does nothing against a 1/3, so the red aggro deck is incentivized to point Lightning Bolt at blockers...
Well, it's a lot more interesting than other red 1-drops. Pretty sure that's way too pushed for my cube, but... maybe it's ok as an anchor for red aggro? It covers the archetype's weaknesses and doesn't push what it's good at, which is what Goblin Guide does, so it might be a more balanced card...
Weird, for me it says "(You may play this card for its madness cost at the time you discard it from your hand.)"
It might be actually be cycling, though.

There's nothing wrong with a powermax cube, and I feel guilty for being one of the people who influenced this idea. I do disagree with a strict powermax mindset, that states that "the true...
What the actual fuck.
I've never been both so strongly drawn to and repelled by a card at the same time. This is awesome and horrible. I'm not touching this with a 10-foot pole, but it's never leaving my cube either.
That doesn't sound like a beginner cube at all though? Lots of MDFCs, complex sequencing and many utility lands that often need to often need to be used "suboptimally" (like Teetering Peaks on empty board) to be used optimally. It sounds fun, but very spikish.
