    Attack on Cube (2021 Update)

Whoops you snuck in a post. Shepherd - one of my favorite recent printings, but I feel like you want to take advantage of the spell trigger to get the most value from it. There’s a case for it over Skyfisher, but maybe not as things are designed currently. I like having both as dimensional...

    Attack on Cube (2021 Update)

I like a lot of these. I guess the question is what is dictating your cube size? I feel like somewhere between 180 and 360, I start getting a lot less mileage from each card....this obviously changes with each set that’s printed. As a thought exercise, I’m trying to find a sweet spot that’s a...

    Unpowered Fair Stuff

I'm pretty new to this type of design in general, so I don't have anything particularly constructive to say about your list at the moment. I just wanted to say that I do really enjoy the low curve. I never really considered the advantages of being so aggressive in reducing average cmc in cube...

    Attack on Cube (2021 Update)

I think it's a pretty unnecessary hurdle to jump through, and has always played poorly in my experience. As a defensive body, Watcher still provides value being able to trade in combat, as well as dissuading attacks in general. Watcher is also far better with Pod.

    Attack on Cube (2021 Update)

Grapple with the Past is another one to consider I like that it brings something unique to the table for Isochron Scepter and also slots into pretty much everything, but I agree it's easy to have too many self-mill effects. You'd need to start running things like Loaming Shaman which can be a...

I feel like this whole divergence should be moved to its own thread. Lots of valuable content here, and it should be easy for people to find via the search in the future rather than buried in a set discussion thread

    Attack on Cube (2021 Update)

I find myself too often leaning towards the a more middling effect if it provides more intersection points. This becomes compounded at 180. I think you've found a really interesting balance here. Plenty of nuance, but the list has teeth. I like Inscription, but it does feel a little slow for...

    Card/Deck Low Power Card Spotlight

I mean a couple of fliers wouldn't really be a concern imo, but if you're routinely facing down 3+ flyers it's a different story. Most low powered sweepers don't hit everything as it is. I would just want to make sure it was a meaningful effect against your general creature base. If you have...

    Card/Deck Low Power Card Spotlight

Temblor felt perfectly reasonable for me at the peasant power level. I particularly enjoyed it in an Izzet control shell with self-mill elements like Wall of Lost Thoughts The only time I think it could legitimately feel bad is if you have a flying tribal archetype

    Attack on Cube (2021 Update)

Love it, a really tight looking list to me. As someone that is tinkering with their own 180 cube, I have vested interest. I really like so many of the decisions here. Seeing Winter Orb next to Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose gives me heart palpitations (in a good way). What’s your preferred method...

    General Fight Club

I love treetop village, and I especially enjoy it with the land recursion effects. In turn a 2 Aggro context it’s a reasonable threat in its own right. I always try to include it and mishra’s factory in my cubes. I’ve never found garden worth the pain outside of its use in standard madness back...

    General [STX] Strixhaven Spoilers

I'll try to better articulate the point I was making, and I'll preface by saying I'm only bringing this up as a voluntary liaison of sorts, because I'm genuinely happy to have you here, and hope that you remain a long term productive member of our community. I'm already incorporating some ideas...

    General [STX] Strixhaven Spoilers

I should also add that I don’t comment on most cards brought up here, because they aren’t remotely relevant to my goals, and it’s often exhausting enough to maintain my own philosophy and standards of card evaluation let alone wear those of others like I’m changing out hats

    General [STX] Strixhaven Spoilers

Fwiw, you’ll probably wear your fingers out here if you approach card evaluations from this perspective alone. A good 75+% of cards discussed here won’t sniff your list, and most cards aren’t brought up as considerable in that type of context I realized I was being dismissive in my first...

    General [STX] Strixhaven Spoilers

The topic of feel bad effects occasionally comes up in low power settings...land destruction is the obvious bogeyman, but it may also extend to avoiding things like mill or counterspells. If you are running a low powered environment with these types of concerns you may run into a similar...

Cunning Rhetoric reads pretty bad to me for most cube settings. I see the fun appeal due to the randomness and the mini head game...but it’s probably more at home in a casual multiplayer format
