I think it looks pretty fun. Depends on the expected mana base but I wouldn't expect all that many islands to come down in a 2 color deck running some non-basics (unless you have them with basic land types ofc). Seems like a good incentive to wanna run some land tutors and bouncelands etc.

Omg!! Hadn't even considered that interaction. I mostly think the other ETB-equip equipment were kinda lack luster in comparison (too weak or situational for stoneforge).

Honestly I didn't even notice that it had 17 toughness, lmao.

But then I don't get to make a cheeky joke ;) I wonder if this card is good? I understand how it functions in conjunction with landfall, but in a cube setting, is it interesting to be able to blow up a land? Maybe since you can lock villain out of a color for your turn, since the land enters...

Haha what even is this idiot card. It's cool, but isn't it kind of a psuedo turn-2 or turn-3 drop? You can't reasonably open with this, right?

I dunno some people are just bothered by having to pull the card out of the outer sleeve and putting it back again flipped. My group doesn't have any issues with transform cards either, but I can see how it's a bit noob unfriendly.

Yeah this gives us even less reason to try and sneak in old busted GRBS equipment for stoneforge mystic since we're pretty much at critical mass for modern fun sweet equipment. This looks really really good!

To some degree I think equipments have to pull a certain weight to be worth the investment. Equipment can be really strong if you have the mana and board state to move it around between attackers and blockers, but it's also an entire card spent on something that could just be dead.

This is an excellent post Trainmaster! I'm convinced by your arguments about sword of body and mind, and as is probably known to most people; to get the most bang for your buck with stoneforge mystic you really want to have good equipment at 3 cmc to fetch and cheat into play. Speaking of...

Depending on the format, just staying back a few turns and growing the captain can be a valid way to grind out as well. Pridemalkin is much more aggressively bent in that sense.

Yeah I think this is some interesting design-space. Hopefully they explore this in some color-costed lands aswell!

Spoiler season for Zendikar Rising hasn't begun yet buy we got this sneak peak. Happy too see that we'll get some decent creature lands in this set, at the very least one.
