General What is your stickiest glue card?

As complex and wordy as the card is, one of my stickiest glue card is: voldaren bloodcaster -Evasive threat for Black aggro or ninjas -Sacrifice matters -Artifact matters -Discard/GY matters It’s a very nice little package that does everything my Black section wants (I sharpied the backside...

Is the Goyf better or more interesting than fiend artisan? Hybrid mana is great and random pod like ability for redundancy.

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

Not sure where to post this, but here goes. I've been playing a bunch of Arena cube because I want to try new cards I haven't been able to play IRL yet. Here are some cards that stood out (not necessarily unknown quantities mind you): Jadar, ghoulcaller of nephalia My initial take on decayed...

    "Fast" multiplayer cube

Berserk is a staple in my cube! Either you surprise kill someone, or you ruin some combat you weren’t even a part of. Scale up Might be good too actually. Allows you to get back some higher MV spells or can act as an overrun later. Does anyone play it?

    "Fast" multiplayer cube

I hear you! I have trouble getting behind stuff like Defiant Strike though, because of how unimpactful it is. At that point, I'd rather rely on equipments to boost power. Some instants/sorceries that do look more interesting that I haven't played with yet Primal Might Fists of Flame Might is...

Sheoldred seems like a cool way to make Wheels less one-sided, but that might just be too easy. And I am not sure decks that want the Wheel will necessarily want Sheoldred at 4 mana. The card that stuck out to me is I'm not huge on the +2, but the -3 is spicy! You get cards and/or mana and...

    "Fast" multiplayer cube

I can see that. I was considering doing this swap anyways: Teleportation Circle -> Ephemerate And then I could see adding these potentially Tithe Gamble I'd love to hear suggestions for supporting the Arcanist more (could be breaking singleton also). That's why I am hesitant on pulling the...

    General Defining & Optimizing Complexity

Great read and I very much appreciate the condensed bullet points to drive home the take aways. These two points will help me take a critical look at my cube and see if the most complex designs are worth it or not. Thanks!

    "Fast" multiplayer cube

I've been trying to fit Ethreal Investigator And I just had a sacrilegious idea. I could cut Mulldrifter for it! It's cheaper and has a better body. It's a great way to get a lot of artifacts onto the board for various strategies It's easy to draw 2 cards a turn, meaning you can find yourself...

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

I guess I was envisioning it late game: discarding it to regrow something and cast Shigeki again to set up an engine of sorts. Typing it out makes me realize how slow this is though :P Probably true. I was eyeing it as a replacement for Regrowth that could boost some synergies. However, I think...

I am looking for more Green discard outlets to enhance discard payoff cards: Currency Converter and Containment Construct. Does anyone have any experience (cube or other) with: Nostaligic Dreams Shigeki, Jukai Visionary

General Archetype Discussion - Boros Artifact Aggro

A few approaches depending on how broad you want your artifact theme to be: 1. Have cheap artifact creatures that every deck can use, but the payoffs and signposts are in Boros colors (more about the payoffs later) Stonecoil Serpent Gingerbrute Signal Pest Vault Skirge Phyrexian Revoker...

    "Fast" multiplayer cube

I am always looking for ways to promote aggro decks in the cube and one thing I have been neglecting I think is protecting your win. Ideally, you deploy some early game pressure, but once you've established a board presence, you want to stop casting threats and squeeze as much as possible out of...

    Graveyard Duels

a few suggestions (none are perfect for your needs) Cavalier of Flame Manaform Hellkite The Cavalier is a big dude that plays well in the discard deck obviously, but also grants haste for the Fires deck. It has some GY/lands and kind of sacrifice thing going on. 3 Red pips sucks, but the card...

Erik's "The cool side of Magic" cube

With your current setup, I believe that storm is definitely possible to pull off, it just won't happen very often. Storm decks are usually 3 components: Win conditions, cards draw/tutoring engine and mana engine. Your wincons are really solid with Brainfreeze, Tendrils of Agony and Thassa's...

    Nanonox's 1vs1 cube

I have a few ideas I'd like to implement in the cube, the first is extending the Selesnya Earthcraft/Rishkar/Katilda ramp archetype to being a 5 color one. At it's base, this archetype is a ramp deck that uses creatures to ramp rather than mana rocks, spells or actual mana dorks. This makes it...

    General "Looking for a card"-Thread

Not sure if high powered or if it just works really well for me: Incarnation Technique The fact that you don't need any set up to cast it is great and depending on the match up, you get two reanimation spells!

Does indirectly work? sarkhan Vol Yasova dragonclaw Threaten effects are so great with sacrifice that it could be a draw to the archetype.

General big games, small games and you

Right, you want your players to have agency in the ability to respond. The point was that if you overload on removal you make those synergies so much harder to reach. Finding the removal density for your format takes time and differs for each cube designer based on their desired gameplay.

General big games, small games and you

I see a lot of information about small games around the forums, which I do enjoy, but wanted to talk about big games for a few reasons: 1. They correspond to my format (multiplayer FFA cube) 2. They tend to favor synergy driven environments Synergies are usually about assembling pieces of an...
