Both scale to the environment because they're only able to get back something from the environment. Snap is typically going to be better unless the cube's curve is so high that a spell's cost plus 1U is prohibitive. There's a few things that Archaeomancer is better at due to not exiling the...

Another cool one along these lines is swift reconfiguration You're much more incentivized to crew 5 a 10/10 than an early game dude.

singing bell strike There's this one plus the updated version in the new set. Are there other removal spells like this where you can pay a bunch of mana to get rid of it? I like that it will lock up a cheaper creature pretty effectively, but will only tie up 6 mana against a bomb in the late game.

voracious varmint for your Varmint tribal archetype. A lot of the commons that we saw today are really decent. Set looks cool. Tempting 3c cards.

I recently noticed that things that cost 1 less per X are now all "Affinity for X"

How is this more interesting than having cards whose value changes dependent on the game? For example, Counterspell vs a resolved bomb is still a relatively dead draw without being completely dead. "Do they have a land?" is easier to solve than "What card with an actual effect do they have?"...

I've also heard that it's beneficial for giving beginners the chance to win even when their skill level is very low. The flipside to that is that I see bad players blame a loss on drawing a couple lands in a row rather than considering they may have misplayed. I've had an opponent complain that...

I gave that some thought, but this was in DSK retail draft and I don't think I'd go lower power than that. Ragavan is an abomination (but cute). I've played thousands of games of Yu-Gi-Oh and only ever had one nongame (due to a poorly constructed deck). The way lands work in MtG definitely...

How do you guys reduce nongames? Had a game today where I drew 9 lands out of 10 draw steps in DSK draft today with a 16 land deck that cracked a Terramorphic Expanse. The game after that was a mull to 5. That's unfun for both players and shouldn't be able to happen. The mana system sucks, but...

There's no mana cost, so I'm assuming this is the back face of an even wordier card?
