Sets (AFR) Adventures in the Forgotten Realms Previews- Dripping with Flavor, and Excess Words!

ooooooooohh (type: instant). This is a combination of effects that I really love for my green section. Build a grip of lands for lands-matter stuff, or recur important pieces like seismic assault or ramunap excavator

    Sigh, again?

I'm basically in the same headspace on these. Still not entirely sure what direction to take, but it might be as simple as another bounce spell. Mono-{U} isn't a thing in the format, so really it's not the most critical function anyways. UR is probably the most apt to want that sort of effect...

Sets (AFR) Adventures in the Forgotten Realms Previews- Dripping with Flavor, and Excess Words!

Krydle is a cool card, but scry 1 instead of surveil 1 is a bit meeeh. Still cool. Solid black 2 drop beefcake with staying power. Is it that "cool" or "synergistic"? Not really. I guess good with Gisa and Geralf, flinging itself into trades that might otherwise be a little frisky.

Cycling who? This is awesome and I think cleanly nudges out neutralize for me.

Very pushed. I dont think I would wait for "synergies" before putting this in a Bx deck. Synergy with removal isnt really synergy, and you dont even need to wait for removal to make it good. Just attack with stuff and let creature combat do the rest. Probably above the power level that I want.

Dayum, they are packing a lot of oomph into green 2 drops these days

Flameskull is an interesting form of phoenix ability, or a cool red card draw source (but not both, which is neat), but can't block is.... meeeh. Also doesn't interact with the GY, which I really like in most phoenixes.

More spoilers showing that they are going ham with the ability words. I actually like this quite a lot. Bouncing a nonland is a perfectly good baseline, but the option to sneak in an "when deal combat damage" trigger or to turn a creature into a lethal blow through blockers is very nice.

Sets (AFR) Adventures in the Forgotten Realms Previews- Dripping with Flavor, and Excess Words!

An interesting thing they seem to be doing in this set is ability wording specific abilities from DnD (spells, features, etc) in the text of the cards. For example, owl-bear here has "keen sense" as an ability word, which is taken from the DnD monster description 3GG Creature - Bird Bear...

    Sigh, again?

All that talk of spells decks in nanonox's thread and lo, my cube decided to spit out a cool deck that showcases the bridge between lands and spells that I'm working to promote/permit. Only a couple cards off the ideal of what I'm looking for, and turns out those cards were actually.... pretty...

    "Fast" multiplayer cube

Regarding token payoffs for a Jund deck, I think sacrifice outlets are an easy option. Goblin Bombardment (which you already run) would do wonders to turn all those 1/1's into direct damage pointed wherever needed. I am currently very happy with finale of devastation In the utility creature...

Erik's "The cool side of Magic" cube

Drake Haven requires a bit of a framework to support, it can't just jam into any ol' shell. I'm seeing some of what a drafter would want to support it, but don't know if it's fully there. My top picks from that pile would be suspend, brazen borrower, and Commit // memory My goto equipment to...

probably more toxic than sweet. At least with Parallel lives the opponent has a chance to take action to mitigate it's effects.

If I want more of that particular effect, which is definitely a possibility, I would just run two Scours. EDIT: and let me just say that I think the platonic ideal cantrip for my format, and probably several others out there is "surveil 1, then draw a card". I would toss aside Scour in a...

And give up on that gnarly scour art? For real though, I like the extra flexibility on Thought Scour. If you know you want what's on top, you can target the opponent and have them mill, for instance.

Thank you all. Illumination and Hard Evidence are high on my future includes list. What I actually ended up swapping in was thought scour A card I thought for sure I had included, but on inspection.... wasn't. Scour is a key cantrip for my GY based format, so yeah... woopsies!

Inscription of Insight draws me in because modes. And because it is a very tempo oriented card, clearing blockers or adding to a board state flexibly. Heiroglyphic Illumination also draws me in because modes... sigh. With FoF, I basically feel like this: Which can make it act much better than...
