You made Falkenrath Aristocrat, Hellhole Flailer, multiple 4 mana demons, Liliana's Reaver, Hero of Oxid Ridge, a decent Carrion Feeder, Morph Phoenix, & a handful of other cubable goods very upset.
I could see it in rakdos aggro without much of an issue, actually. Maybe even Boros. Depends on what you're running. Definitely hard to see it in UR though.
I thought it was poop when I first read it, but honestly it is probably the one of the best uses of the ferocious mechanic that WotC released in Khans. Splashable & provides a heavy hit in the damage department. That being said, ferocious is so far proving to be a horrible threshold mechanic...
Ob Nixilus is the black planeswalker. It hit me hard as disappointing, but maybe he's cube-worthy?
Pros:
>has a decent +2 to balance out a powerful -2.
>can use his -2 right away & live.
>that ultimate is cool
Cons:
>That's 5 mana in that top right corner.
>The +2 is roughly somewhere between...
Feldon is apparently an older mtg character. Dude has an interesting mtg love story. I like him as a card, but damn I wish he wasn't so slow. Also, can we confirm a mythic cycle of "graveyard matters" legendary humans w/ activated abilities yet? Cuz there's 3 of them now.
Last note on Feldon...
I'm not sure how blatantly obvious this is to everyone here, but I'm almost completely certain that there will be morph cards that AREN'T creatures at some point in this block.
Between irl drafting khans, posting here, participating in #gamergate propaganda, and grinding away at the evil within, I've had a busy few days. That being said, what happened to devotion decks?
Has anyone tested a big red plan? Is ember mauler just terrible or am I on to something in thinking it could be good? How out of touch am I? Someone tell me things!
I figured the hydra is easier dealt with but has a higher ceiling. Plus proliferate synergy and 1/1 counter synergy. But the ooze is....you know.... the OOZE! Probably one of the top 5 coolest oozes in MtG.
5 toughness makes it both attractive but simultaneously an issue. Probably a good thing, though. I'm just a whiny red mage who hates toughness > 4 at below 5 mana.
I think anyone running a good number of walkers probably wants sarkhan AND pyromaster. They play nicely in just about any red strategy. Plus, unless you have an interesting mono color theme that supports big red, Koth IS sadly kind of dull in comparison to our new great Dragonspeak overlord.
*Jeskai Ascendancy will very possibly be banned*
It's shit like this that makes me really frustrated with MtG players. A combo reliant on mana dorks (more than two cards) is not just not consistent enough to warrant banning. Even SPLINTER TWIN combos are not banned and it's a two card combo...
Still gonna push that "all ten shards" idea...just to see what comes out of it.
Worse case scenario: I cut 5 three color themes and some of the land and stuff that supported them. (So maybe like...idk...80 cards...?)
