    Sets [MCD] Theros previews

Vanquish the Foul is a serious candidate for worst card ever printed. Let's take a completely not overpowered 2 mana instant, downgrade it to sorcery, up the mana by 4 and the compensate, add scry 1. Amazing.

    GBS

I think draft formats end up being three sets because wizards needs more sets to make money. Cube doesn't have that constraint. We can just make one set that works in-and-of itself and be done with it. Like Bob said, I don't know if splitting the cube and multiple pools is really that...

Article Top 8 Worst Draft Formats of All Time

Although, I guess if you were 11 when Masques came out, you were 7 when Ice Age was released, so you were mercifully spared that bullet.

Article Top 8 Worst Draft Formats of All Time

Masques was definitely much, much worse then Urza's block. While Urza's block was in retrospect poorly designed, at the time it was a lot of fun. It played completely differently from Tempest Block and had lots of fun decks. It felt new and fresh. Nobody liked Masques, the games were never...

General Forced Synergy Cards In Cube

So, I was experimenting with Goblin Lackey and really not enjoying the experience. It just seemed wierd that the lackey could force out big moves like Siege-Gang Commander or get me 0 cost stone rain (Goblin Settler), but couldn't let me drop a Wrecking Ogre or Avalanche Ridereven though those...

General What did you buy for your cube today?

Thanks to Eric's suggestion, I'm picking up a Hanweir Watchkeep. I completely ignored the card when it came out, but now that I think about it, it reminds me of a much, much better version of Wall of Wonder, which was long, long ago actually played in a couple of decks. This in turn reminded...

    200: A 4 Player Cube

Hanweir Watchkeep is pretty good, totally forgot it existed.

    Article Take It

Great conclusion and very true. I'm glad I bailed out of Type 1/1.5 while it was still relatively fun. I'd say that the time period in between "Balance gets restricted" and "Mirage is released" was really good for the eternal formats.

    200: A 4 Player Cube

I do not, although that could be remedied. Wall of Razors is seriously strong against not-red, but it also has serious anti-synergy with pestilence. It is hard for me to accept that one of the best limited cards of all time doesn't have a place in this cube, but it just might not.

    200: A 4 Player Cube

Tuk-tuk is cool and fits the goblin sub-theme, I think he might have a place. I was thinking chandra's phoenix was a good fit for stormbind/pitchcard synergy, but there actually aren't a ton of ways to activate it. Wall of Earth vs Wall of Razors for a card red control decks can wheel and do...

    200: A 4 Player Cube

I need a red creature that can block decently in here. Goblin Settler/Lackey might be the casualty. While its a good deck, the cards for White/Blue Control seem thin to the point that drafting it is extremely fragile.

    200: A 4 Player Cube

http://cubetutor.com/viewcube/2956 I've decided to try something different and get back to the roots of my cubing experience. This is my attempt at a cube list intended to be played with 4 players and 5x10 (or 15/20/15) with no land draft. I am attempting to get fast games with reasonable...

    Card/Deck [SCD] Dark Depths

Hex Parasite is another card that can speed up Marit Lage, cutting the requisite mana from 30 to 10. However, this is very easy to interrupt. A 10 mana sink to get a huge dude isn't bad, though. Ludevic's Test Subject is a solid dude. Marit Lage is better, but it doesn't serve as an op wall...

    General Chatcast topics

Why don't more people run double mana lands? Some people run Ancient Tomb, but rarely do people run City of Traitors, Crystal Vein, Peat Bog, Remote Farm, Saprazzan Skerry, Hickory Woodlot or Sandstone Needle. They definitely never run Ruins of Trokair, Dwarven Ruins, Ebon Stronghold, Havenwood...

I cube tradewind rider. It doesn't make me want to run molten birth. I think its all Mogg War Marshal's fault, he just does that basic job better.

    General The Idiosyncratic Component Obession

Making custom components is not in any way illegal. Even selling them is not illegal. The design, text and artwork of a component are copywritten. The actual functionality of the component or the license to enact the process of playing the game is not. I certainly agree that allowing proxies...
