I think that makes sense in your cube. The interaction is definitely nice. That much removal for me would likely be crushing to synergistic decks. Having a Corpsejack Menace or Marionette Master almost always meet removal would defeat the purpose of having build arounds.

Similarly, if you can run Vivids or Thrivings, you can use those to throw down an odd color.

My suspicion is that it might fit best at a power level that can afford to swap out some more typical options for things like Voyagers' Staff and Wayfarer's Bauble. Once you can make those swaps, the options at {1} really increase.
