Tribute Mage hits by far the most targets in my cube with 29. That's almost twice what Trophy Mage could, and I thought about it. On the other Hand, Trophy bro got bomb stuff like Crystal Shard or Sword of Vengeance, while this guy hits mostly Mana Rocks. Best target might be Cranial Plating...

Off topic: Have you had success with Tortured Existence? It's new in my draft pool and hasn't seen play yet, but I'm exited to see what it can do in different decks. Also, ontopic, TE just looks like a magic card should look from head to toe.

Love the comeback of retrace! But I don't know about the card. Being horrible with counters probably kills it for me, as I like my spells to be good in the spells deck.

That's a good point, I will pay attention to that when drafting with less experienced players and talking about the aechetypes! But I feel like madness is one of those decks that a newbie has to see in action before he has a good chance to draft and build it himself successfully.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of the recent frame in general. There are just sp many differently shaped roundings, it is really not coherent. But I can live with it on commons/uncommons. But when you cut another hole in the text box just to put another different shape around that card, it just gets too...

I hate the current rare/mythic frame a lot. You would not pass a design class at university with that. So I try to make a high quality proxy version of cards, that are only available in that frame. PS: House rule is that you have to shout "FUS RO DAH' when you flip the Dragonslayer.

Well, I think it's a mistake to only focus on the pay offs that have the actual word madness written on them. There are quite a few great cards that make aggressive starts with Mongrels and Co. possible: Roar of the Wurm Honored Hydra Anger Brawn Vengevine Hollow One That's not even everything.

In my cube, people tend to just concede to a well set up wildfire (usually at least 1 creature that stays like Tuk Tuk, the Explorer and some artifact mana), so I could imagine the discard drawback of Dreams to not matter too much. I'm more worried about having to have the cards in hand to make...

I love how this card's name is a hybrid of two classics even. And I hope it means we'll get more hybrid awesomeness in this set!

Could this guy be good enough for aggro madness? Having to discard upfront makes it harder to cast it on turn 2 and the ping ability might be too expensive to matter in aggro.
