I run the Minotaur, and it gets played a surprisingly amount of the time it's drafted. It's a threat that protects itself, and it's recently become best buddies with Jori En, Ruin Diver. It's also valuable as an artifact, if you run that theme in blue and red.

Hahaha, I think it might actually end up as a Arcane Laboratory + the annoying part of Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir, because you can only play one land per turn, and only on your turn. Oh, and also playing lands does not use the stack. This is hilarious!

I think this is a lot better than the original, but do keep in mind that it's still a free Raise Dead that doesn't take up a deck slot, which is a very strong effect. I'ld playtest it like this, and if it's too strong increase the casting cost by {2} from the get-go.

You could toy around with promoting a creature you play to the rank of commander, instead of starting out with one. "Whenever you cast a creature card, if you don't have a commander, you may have that creature become your commander." or something like that. Is there a reason your recasting rule...

I actually run Fleecemane Lion over Watchwolf. It's all very nice to desire elegance, but too much elegance leads to boring and/or underpowered cards. Fleecemane Lion is so much more likely to end up in the epic situation story than Watchwolf, that I'ld never want to include the vanilla beater.

Purphoros, God of the Forge I think that as a pure combo deck it's not incredibly good, but it's one of the few combos that blends nicely into an aggro deck. Oh, also... Blasting Station Jinxed Idol

Fandral/Idol, I discovered, causes you to fizzle Idols because your hand is full with Fandrals that you can't cast. It's not a great combo. I lost to a t3 Mechwarper/Metaltooth Leaper swarm strategy. Pretty savage o_O

You do run it's best buddy Upheaval though, which is considered OP in a lot of Riptide cubes. I cut Psychatog a long time ago after it was routinely sideboarded.

For trademark reasons you probably want to stay away from the 3 cards per pack, but I think 4 is feasible? What you could do is start with a bigger bag (somewhere around 10 per color?), and then when you draft a card, remove all tokens that don't share a color with the current or previous...

I like this approach. Should there be a way to remove a token from the bag? Maybe halfway through the draft, remove the tokens of each color that has less tokens than a certain threshold?
