That was my idea exactly :) The cube turned out quite well actually! There's some utter chaff like Claim of Erebos (who put that in?!), but for the most part it's fun drafting, and the archetypes are relatively diverse at first glance.

No, probably not, but I've got Mox Opal, Goblin Welder and Daretti to put some of the stuff into play, and my ULD fixing will probably consist of tri-lands (Crumbling Necropolis[/ci], Arcane Sanctum, Nomad Outpost, [c]Mystic Monastery, in that order if I can get them :)) Golgari graveyard...

Retrace cards (like Flame Jab) are nice. These also work well together with stuff like Life from the Loam and Worm Harvest (which is itself a retrace spell). You probably want to abandon the singleton paradigm, as I really think a cube like this would benefit from multiple copies of things like...
