I just watched the Dice Tower review of Imperial Settlers. That game is officially going on my buy list. Looks awesome fun!

It takes a very special kind of woman to get turned on by that ;) "I'm about to zap baby, taste the landfall!" Ok, maybe I should go back to work now

Not a problem, adding that is easy as pie and you are right, probably makes for better games. Thanks for that!

Haha, fair enough. In any case, it's a game I would advise people to play with their group with a borrowed copy before they buy it. It's a bit too expensive to gather dust on your shelve. King of Tokio is a fun romp indeed. Knizia's game designs are so broad that it's hard to recommend Knizia...

Vigilance is actually secondary in green. I think I would pick Armageddon over Cycle of Stone any day of the week. I love the concept, but with such a stringent mana cost I would expect a little more upside for me. I would also reword it so it doesn't count permanents, but just the destroyed...

The Plague from Urza's Saga starts with four Pestilence. Must be quite good! Mono blue mages should go with Dominator from Exodus. Two Forbids, three Mana Leaks, and the full play set of Counterspells!

I guess the colors of mana you can generate are dependent on whether you have green, white or blue mana available. Is that what you mean? Each land is tied to three colors of mana and simply filters one color into the other two color, so to me the cards reads very cleanly and easy to "grog". Is...

Actually, in my experience it's the other way around. I've had great fun with casual gamers, and I've only heard negative things about the game from hardcore gamers. Casual gamers are more likely to just have fun, enjoy the flavor of the game, and do stuff. It doesn't really matter what you are...

About the same amount of games where The Abyss ends in decking? There's a fair amount of recursion in my cube, and there's also planeswalkers that can win you the game. I don't expect it to be a problem really.

I don't know what your penis looks like, but if it looks anything like Lotus Cobra you should probably consult someone with expertise in the field of Twilight vampirism. Edit: I think I forgot to add in a smily here :D I hope I am never forced to watch Twilight by a fan, because I don't...

Why do you think so? I would like to include a balanced triland that enters the battlefield untapped and this seemed like the best solution to me. I don't see why it would give players headaches though. I never had any problems with Aysen Abbey and friends, and this seems less complex.

Haha, thanks for the compliment! Doesn't do much good though if they look great, but are seldom played. I think each of those is strong enough though. After all, the cards they are based on are at least borderline playable.

So here's a few cards I am seriously contemplating for my cube. I think Abyssal Gate and Crystal Glade (plus four others, one for each 3-color combination) are in, but I'm wondering whether I should replace the already familiar Frenzied Goblin, and whether a color-shifted, human-friendly Mogg...

This is one of those ideas that probably is too fidgety to pull off in the real world, but you could try to do something similar based on boosters. That'll cost a fair amount of money obviously, but would be a pretty neat thing to do. Like, everyone starts with a crappy starter deck, and after...

I'm not much a fan of most landfall cards, though Lotus Cobra is cool, and a lands theme is pretty hard to implement otherwise. There's just not that much support for it. Maybe you could think up some custom cards. I personally liked landstorm (copy this spell for each land card you played this...

It's a small miracle that we haven't been bashing each other's heads in by now given today's average online environment. Hearing (as in "listening to") other's opinions has never hurt anyone (quite the opposite actually), even if those opinions don't directly sway your worldview. Alas, I fear...

Haha, I just played Ticket to Ride with my wife the other day. It's a great game :) A friend of mine who owns (and plays) a lot of games (coming from someone who owns a fair number of games himself) dislikes Terra Mystica because he feels the scoring tracks are too disconnected. I feel it fits...

Some of my favorites are: Race for the Galaxy (tactical card game, flows really well despite apparent complexity, space-themed) Suburbia (boring looking but surprisingly fun city-building game, sound mechanics, tension between wanting to grow and sustaining your growth) Nefertiti (Ancient...
