I was planning on running both.

General Decks that have 3-0'd your cube

This is exactly why I hate any and all Swords of X and Y in limited environments. Other than that the deck looks sweet.

Ruthless Butcher {R} Creature - Human Barbarian Double strike Whenever Ruthless Butcher deals combat damage to an opponent, it deals that much damage to each other creature you control. 2/1 Firefury-Fist Ascetic {R} Creature - Human Monk Prowess, double strike -1/2

General How Much Burn is Too Much Burn

The three-color cube. I expect things to shift around quite significantly. It's been a pretty satisfying replacement for Gilded Lotus. Once you get to 5 mana it doesn't really matter all that much if you jump up 1 mana or 3 mana as the most expensive spells often cost 7, and if you can afford...

    Article ChannelFireball: Utility Land Draft

What if you stapled this effect onto Cogwork Librarian and the other cards? Either you keep them and get utility lands, or you put him back to draft twice from a pack. The other Cogworks that are less powerful can be worth more picks or higher initiative in the utility land draft.

General How Much Burn is Too Much Burn

Chiming in here (this is counting everything that can deal direct damage to creatures and players from my current cube, not the weird Waddell experiment I am going to do shortly): grim Lavamancer Chandra, Pyromaster Koth of the hammer Shrine of burning rage Burst lightning Chain lightning...

Don't you snap pick a utility land draft if there's no ridiculous card in the pack? Can you pick more than one?

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

Sulfuric Vortex did result in a brilliant game where the opponent of the red player proclaimed "This card is lame, cut it from your cube!" after the first game, then "Haha, this card is awesome! Never cut it!" after the red player lost to his own Vortex in the second game :)

Or you could include a range of numbers which determines pick order in the after-draft shop.

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

I think it's a way better card to promote red beatdown strategies than Sulfuric Vortex. (Though I reincluded that in my cube recently... why did I do that?) Some people also like to lay down the beatdown, nice and simple, rather than break out the calculator at every corner to eke out a victory.

Well... It did just win a Legacy open as a 4-of.

Also, while Dig was being compared to Fact or Fiction, Treasure Cruise was being compared to Ancestral Recall. Just saying.

Article Cube Design - Tri-color Cards

Ok, try again! http://cubetutor.com/viewcube/17636 I ultimately ended up with 39 cards per mono-color, including 2 hybrids (so really 41 per mono-color, but you share 4 of those with other colors), 13 two-color, and 5 three-color cards. I savagely cut back my artifact section, basically only...

Article Cube Design - Tri-color Cards

Yeah, I did notice the artifact subtheme felt a bit pushed myself as well. I really like it in Grixis because red has such sweet cards for the theme (Goblin Welder and Covetous Dragon are the best imo) and Esper has been done to death. I already reduced the number of artifact and in doing so had...
