General Shadow over Innistrad - April 2016 Trailer

Lovecraft's monsters were supposed to represent the horror of the unknown, intensified by their strangeness and vastness. It's intended to inspire that feeling of anxiety as though you were swimming above a dark depth of ocean that descends a mile below you. It's sorta difficult to create that...

I'm a big fan of the spell bombs. I definitely recommend them.

    Card/Deck Blink

Red was originally the most boring color in my cube, so I staunchly maintained Kiki simply because it was an interesting red card. Over the last year and a half or so, the color has really changed a lot. White has stolen the crown of "most boring". I think it's probably time to put Kiki on...

    Card/Deck Blink

I run Kiki but never wish to see the "Kiki deck". Regulars know that Resto is in my cube as well, but there's a tacit understanding that it is boring and lame to set off that combo. Kiki is a fun card by itself.

    Card/Deck Recursion

If we're talking specifically regrowth-style recursion, one of the reasons it goes so well with blue is because of stuff like Ponder, Preordain, and Brainstorm. The best support for a regrowth theme should include cheap, proactive spells that are likely to be in your graveyard immediately...

It could literally only read "Bounce two creatures, draw a card" and it would be worth playing. Edit: speaking of the recently mentioned Whiplash Trap

    Card/Deck Blue GRBS?

That card is better than Cryptic Command

    Card/Deck Blue GRBS?

They're kinda different, though. Consecrated Sphinx is basically a removal check while Aetherling is very mana intensive in order to be effective. Sphinx is more likely to steal a game back from an aggressive opponent on turn 6.

    Card/Deck Blue GRBS?

Treachery and Opposition seem like GRBS, but I think the rest are OK. Mindsculptor is strong but it really isn't unfair in most cubes, IMO. Sometimes I wonder if Cryptic Command is GRBS. Real hard to lose after resolving that one. Has Vryn's Prodigy been too good? I just traded for one with...

Lashwrithe is actually pretty good if you support that kind of thing. Equipment in general has proved to be hard to design at a medium-strong power level. Designs like Sword of the Animist give me hope, though.

I somehow never realized until now the synergy between Trading Post and Humility. Shrink the enemy. Buff your goats!

Personally, I don't think I really want "pure" draw-go decks to be a thing. I want control decks to feel compelled to commit some resources to the board that can be interacted with. I definitely like the idea of utility-land mana sinks. How about increasing the number of artifacts and...

    The Board Game Thread

Just watched the unboxing video for it at BGG. The components look great. Love the aesthetics of it. What does the gameplay compare to? For reference, I have a basic familiarity with the popular heavier euros. What's your highest recommended Splotter game?

I'm planning on testing it. It seems like a fun card.

What are some interesting creatures for control that don't fit as well in midrange and aren't simply blockers? For example: Masticore
