General Re-examining The Basic Land Box

At the very least, ways to incentivize players to draft specifically the fetches that are for their pair of colors. Wastelands seem perfect for this, because when playing against them you do want on-color fetches and don't want off-color ones. Any sort of non-basic punisher would work well...

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

Even though cube tends toward singleton, most of the cards in a given deck don't vary that much from one another when compared to a format like Vintage, where you're talking about Mana Crypts and Force of Wills and Time Vaults. We've discussed before how Demonic Tutor is decidedly not close to...

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

I've always loved that card. People often seem hesitant to draft it, but I can't tell if it's because they're underestimating it or they're intimidated by it. Tricking people into giving you one of the cards they shouldn't is highly satisfying. I'm currently running Intuition instead, which...

General Is too good fixing causing 3-color good stuff?

OK so I think this sort of highlights the issue that I have had with certain curve-toppers. Inferno Titan is straight-up the main offender here IMO. I'd start by addressing the goodstuff cards that don't have a difficult color-requirement before getting too concerned with the fixing...

General Is too good fixing causing 3-color good stuff?

If anything, this would provide even more justification for Wastelands and non-basic removal spells. I'm in the camp of letting players have access to lots of fixing, and including tools to punish that strategy.

    The Board Game Thread

I've been considering Twilight Struggle because I need another good 2-player game (my friend refuses to play magic), and it has occupied the number 1 spot on boardgamegeek for some time now. Anyone have any experience with that one?

    General Fight Club

Ha, I run all three. Delver is double-squaded to increase build-around incentive. I'm surprised that people don't like the bear. He's been fine. You can't equip it but in blue aggro people tend to focus more on tempo anyway, at least over here. I might even try Frost Walker. I just added...

I'd definitely go with Verdict first, then Sculler. Sculler is such a groan-inducing card, in a good way. Plus it's a zombie and an artifact!

Card/Deck Ug... What should I do with my Blue-Green section?

Though I agree with the general philosophy that's been suggested, I disagree on a few points. A. Gold cards shouldn't always be color-pair incentives. Sometimes it should be rewards. I would try to plan on having half or more than half be more open-ended incentives like Kiora, but you also...
