Sea Gate Stormcaller is my Fork of choice, but i can see Iteration seeing some play and being interesting for people who are deep on the spells/magecraft archetype. i’m wary of it myself because unlike Stormcaller it doesn’t affect the board. EDIT: and yeah being gold doesn’t help either

    Inscho's Graveyard Combo Cube

yeah, just something to keep in mind when you test - see how many cards people tend to cast off it and that can be a good way to evaluate how it’s performing

    Inscho's Graveyard Combo Cube

breach is cool but can be underwhelming if you’re not able to get at least 2 cards off it. otherwise it runs the risk of being “worse regrowth.” that said i run it in my upsize pack

it seems pretty good tbh, it’s like a colorless Survival

you know what? i’m gonna try some DFCs in a draft sometime soon and just see how they do. Delver, maybe a couple land DFCs, Mushroom’s Rage Channeler

yeah you can craft your environment such that the unfair stuff is still interactive and fun, and even build around the supposition that people are all going to be running either “unfair” or “anti-unfair” decks which is a cool and fun metagame. i don’t attach negative connotations to the MTG term...

day/night was a really easy “hard pass” for me due to the huge complexity tax on the mechanic for, i feel, low fun payoff relative to what i’m already running

i just find heliod to be problematic, i run ballista happily. and yes, an indestructible enchantment is a BIG part of the Heliod problem. an un-interactive keyword on an un-interactive permanent type EDIT: for the same reason, i don’t run Klothys, even though i would LOVE her otherwise

yeah i meant the land destruction specifically haha

    General Fair

yeah i would count all of this as fair, even if the play patterns are undesirable

walking ballista is great and basically everyone whose power band can handle it should run it. heliod creates a ton of unfair win conditions and is a crappy play pattern even when played “fairly.” IMO. EDIT: actually it’s not just my opinion, there was a widespread outcry similar to people’s...

the Mox cube is deliberately unfair and a pretty frickin cool environment imo

sadly heliod is just not a fair card

the big thing for me is ease of recursion. it’s worse than most kill spells but if you have other stuff that gets back artifacts/permanents then it becomes a tradeoff of paying higher cost for the ability to loop it, which for a control player is probably a good tradeoff if they have other more...

i STILL run Capsule once in a great while. it’s worse enough than every thing else that it’s basically guaranteed to wheel to the Emry player, where it does deece work. nice little role player card

    General Fair

agree with sigh’s analysis of the current state of “fair” term usage. fwiw i think it would be less confusing if we started using a term such as “outlier” or “bomb” for future state to refer to the second instance of “unfair” cards where the card isn’t doing anything inherently broken, just...

    General Fight Club

yeah i think Concoction is a deece discard outlet and does a bunch of small good things in a graveyard combo type cube, but it gets a lot worse as you get fairer

    General Fight Club

yeah i’m not saying people should go super deep for it, creature/land/instant/sorcery is still the go to combo, but having a couple 1-2 mana clean one-for-ones like Seal, Weight and Growth are really nice as they work everywhere but provide a little extra utility for the drafter who’s on some...
