    Card/Deck Low Power Card Spotlight

Yeah, you two are probably right. It's not worth the risk I guess. From cards that are most likely too good, let me switch to cards which might be too much for low power levels. Rampaging Baloths While Sporemound is for sure among my weaker 5-drops, both landfall and token decks play it for...

    Card/Deck Low Power Card Spotlight

Okay, I have another lesser known, colorless archetype support card, that I want to talk about. This one supports blink, landfall and can reset sagas or Demonic Pact. All while - hopefully - disrupting the opponent, who build a not nearly as synergistic deck for it. Maybe it even works as an...

I'm looking for a blue 6-drop control finisher that is resilient while still fitting to my pretty low power level. Which of these do you ike more? Ephemeron Geralf's Mindcrusher Ephemeron has been fine in the past, but unexciting barring the one time I won with it's activated ability + Drake...

While Fumigate is slightly worse, I'm not a fan. A friend cubed this for a while, and it just closed the door completely for aggro. Often, after a wrath, aggro can still hope to burn the opponent out or stick an evasive threat for the last few points of life. That <10% chance keeps the game...

Geier Reach Sanitarium Is this good? Can you throw this into most decks with a great mana base (or monocolored ones) or does it need quite a few discard/graveyard synergies first?

Oh, there is one more I haven't seen here and it's enabler and payoff in one, just not really interesting outside it's home strategy Splinterfright

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

I think this is better than most 2/1s, depending on the environment. How relevant is 3 toughness against potential blockers? How many lands do your aggro decks play? Do you run fetches? How much damage needs a 1-drop to deal to be good? I think even without fetches it is a solid creature, as...

But why are you listing the Steel Hellkite? It's ability only works with combat damage, so you can't activate it after using sarkhans -4.

Sorry for doube posting, I overlooked Zoss reponse before I've been quite happy with it. As a slightly more expensive Diabolic Edict, it is not breathtakingly strong, but since you can chose the mode, it usually becomes "destroy target enchantment" when needed. In Theros beyond Death you...

Yes, but I would not play the Flamespeaker probably, unless you have a lot of scry effects in {R} and at least two other colors. Grotag Night-Runner Temporal Mastery Omen of the Forge Omen of the Sea Proteus Staff Jaya's Greeting

Are you guys running the black enchantment removals? I've been very happy with three colors being able to destroy that card type, just like with artifacts, and I wish Kaldheim would've given us another piece. Feed the Swarm Pharika's Libation

    General Self-Sufficient Tribal Payoffs

I hate that card. It is ridiculously pushed and includes a lot of luck, and if you have it (hexproof immediately) it becomes the worst kind of GRBS.

    General Self-Sufficient Tribal Payoffs

Yeah, but it is home in a tribe that every color in every cube has, not to mention the many colorless cards. That's much broader than humans even.

    General Self-Sufficient Tribal Payoffs

The same is true for non-tribal effects. In the other thread, Japahn was worried, that his playgroup might expect a enchantment theme when he slots in Stone Haven Pilgrim as a (great) artifact payoff. I recommended playing it anyways, as he has quite a few enchantments in white and it is pure...

    General Self-Sufficient Tribal Payoffs

Sure, that's true. But maybe others can take this as a motivation to do the same, instead of denying a great cube addition. Ask a handful of players with different experience levels what they'd think because of that card. Noone can guarantee, that Champion of Dusk will never mislead a drafter...

I don't think the Vinecrasher is that strong. I'd test it and I'm pretty low in power level. Also, what about these creeps? Masked Admirers

    General Self-Sufficient Tribal Payoffs

Gallia is a great example why I think mis-signaling isn't that big of a deal. When I realised she was just the {R/G} Madness lord I was waiting for, I slam dunked her into my cube. But I was also worrying. Most of my players were newbies after all. Would they read the line about Satyrs and be...

Then I think it comes down how green is playing in Nanonox' cube. Is it a "typical" green play style most often or is the instant speed playstyle supported well enough , that the big wolf works without being a functional simic card?

    General Self-Sufficient Tribal Payoffs

In general, I feel like people are overvaluing the "wrong signaling" from cards like these. It's just a feeling, but I'd say most experienced players would be able to understand that a Champion of Dusk doesn't necessarily mean there is a full blown vampire tribal archetype and to adequatly draft...

Card/Deck Artifacts in Cube - Yes, but how?

About Stone Haven Pilgrim Yes, the enchantment text is pure upside. You will have some enchantments anyway, considering that most white removal spells are enchantments. And it synergizes so nicely with the Dawn of Hope you're running in you're core cube!
