Sets (WOE) Wilds of Eldraine Spoilers

I'm not saying reanimation can't be fair. I'm only trying to illustrate that Back for Seconds is just a low-curve midrange card, whereas something like Diabolic Servitude has a "combo" angle that most players will try to exploit. You can't reanimate something expensive with seconds, you can with...

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

I've played with the card quite a bit on Arena, both in LOTR draft and in some different Constructed decks. It really does just play like a colorless Phyrexian Arena, just a better because it sets up your draws and you don't need to worry about losing life. It's more of a bomb than Phyrexian...

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

I think you could probably play it in a medium power Cube depending on what that means to you. The card is good but it’s not so far away from something like Phyrexian Arena as to be completely broken. It’s a cool design so if a designer finds it fun I think there’s a fair bit of leeway for...

Sets (WOE) Wilds of Eldraine Spoilers

I don’t think these cards are really filling the same role. Back for Seconds is a Soul Salvage variant that can reanimate something small if you can pay the bargain. Diabolic Servitude is a four mana normal reanimation spell. The primary difference being: Back for Seconds draws you a card and...

Sets (WOE) Wilds of Eldraine Spoilers

This card looks really cool. It's like a combination of Frogify, Medomai's Prophecy, and Founding the Third Path rolled into one card! I definitely think this is the best card in both "2 mana transmutation aura" and "blue spells matter//card advantage saga" categories.

This is basically Titan's Strength that gives a permanent +1/+1 and trample boost. I'm somewhat interested in this, especially for giving Prowess creatures trample.

Sets (WOE) Wilds of Eldraine Spoilers

I think the fairy-tale references are a little more spread out than in the last set, as well. Most of Throne of Eldraine was Arthurian flavored, with only a few fairy-tale cards mixed in. As such, the references were mostly contained to one card per story. For example, there was only one Gilded...

General Aesthetics Debate Club: Optimizing Art in Cube (Daily!)

Another easy RTR (although this time both the Secret Lair and Unfinity versions are a little closer than usual).

They did, but why talk about Draft Chaff when we could talk about Otters??

Sets (WOE) Wilds of Eldraine Spoilers

Do you need to cut from a gold slot for Otter? I could easily see it being spreadsheeted as a red Instant, and I think your Cube is low power enough that you could count the 2/2 flyer as the "main" face no problem if you wanted! Food for thought. Funny how such an eminently fair card ended up...

Sets (WOE) Wilds of Eldraine Spoilers

These two cards seem great. One is a burn spell with a (whatever that M19 Aven Windscout variant draft was called) attached and the other is an instant-speed draw three. I like both of these!

Yeah it was a metaphor. Australia was basically Britain’s Prison Realm.

Yes. Australia was a penal colony for Great Britain during the 19th and early 20th centuries. Instead of throwing people in jail, they just sent them to Australia instead.

    General CBS

Exactly! I think the Omenpaths represent the opening of the multiverse and the broadening of horizons for its inhabitants (both literally and metaphorically). I think that's part of the reason why we're going to so many weird settings: Omenpaths are letting everything feel more connected even...

General (CMM) Commander Masters 2023 Previews

I agree. I think the game is very fun, but mostly because the artistic portion is so good that the experience as a whole becomes enjoyable. The art style, the music, and the story are all well-done and make the gameplay feel very immersive.
