I think this is an excellent point, and one that's been made on this board previously, that there are card that seem like control finishers only in that they are finishers that you can play in a control deck. The realisation here, I think, is that those finishers really go in any slower deck...

This is kind of really just a straight upgrade right? How often do you really need to tap down 1-mana creatures? Granted, it can't tap down a big token but you hopefully have more removal in the deck.

People play goblin instigator and mogg war marshal though right? Similar kind of tech but in a useful tribe.

We've had those too! They want to really sell the idea that they're providing plenty of job opportunities for the youth (which is true, I suppose? But still, that's how they're selling their burgers).

Aah yes, good point! The mascot might actually be more of an american thing. Here I think the ads are mostly just people eating the burgers?

What's the power level of your cube? In my experience Elesh Norn juts shuts the game off against any smaller creature based decks like aggro, so I've had a really feel bad experience with that card.

Evolution Sage 2G Creature - Elf Druid Whenever a land enters the battlefield under your control, proliferate. The uncommons aren't bad either :) Maybe +1/+1 counters slash landfall ramp could be a good dual UG identity moving forward? :p

Ok. (You could elaborate on why!) I think these kinds of cards actually work better than one would expect. In the right deck, it's kind of a 4/4 for 3 a lot of the times? Also big fan of red caring about non-creature spells now.

This really is one of the most Johnny cards isn't it. Casting that card from your library probably isn't that good, it's more that you can manage to cast it from your library.

Yes, but it has a real effect on how our drafters actually draft! It isn't just some kind of curiosity, there's going to be an actual tangible relationship to what kind of draft experience people will have. I kinda like these new walkers! They feel like more of a build around than pure value...

But that's easy for us to say, who think about cube and design every now and then. For a lot of the players that draft our cubes, they have a much more visceral experience. "Oh, this looks like a simic card" as the common first impression among our drafters isn't that far of a stretch, is it?

I did find it a bit peculiar that they didn't show her becoming this skeleton general? I read it after having watched the trailer, but it could've been communicated that she was in fact defying bolas. I just thought she'd stolen a bunch of skeletons from Bolas but got toasted.
