    Rasmus Riptide Cube (360 Unpowered)

Scapeshift sounds like a pretty hard card to create an environment for but I'm intruiged. I cut some of the jankier stuff and threw in a couple of lands like the bfz blightlands and some innistrad spell lands to help make cards like life from the loam more fun. Might grab a retreat to coralhelm...

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

Hey, getting occasional value out of a rancor or shelter is not the same as a tribal incentive. Fabled Hero gets additional value out of buffing cards an aggressive deck could be interested in anyway. Tribal gives weird signals that are much more restrictive. Hero feels like a challenge but...

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

It really feels a bit like a tribal trap. A vanilla 2/2 doublestriker would probably feel more attractive because then you atleast don't feel like you're "missing out" on potential value / fun stuff.

General Print this Wizards! (So I can put it in my cube)

Would you run these in the utility land draft? Land - Eroding Peaks ~enters the battlefield tapped t: add {1} to your mana pool 4R, t, sacrifice ~: destroy target artifact, ~ deals 3 damage to that artifact's controller. Land - Glimmerfaint Steppe ~enter sthe battlefield tapped t: add {1}...

    General [Design Discussion] Perfect Imbalance

I don't agree to this at all. You might have some kind of point, but I think Grillo pointed it out correctly that power max cubes have less room for this kind of dynamic due to the very nature of the cards. When a single card is more complex it makes these interactions much less apparent to the...

    General [Design Discussion] Perfect Imbalance

I like this idea, since it incorporates something that by its very nature is closely related to how these different identities are meant to interact with each other. If part of the identity is its weakness, then the feel of the match up between different strategies should be much easier to make...

    Rasmus Riptide Cube (360 Unpowered)

Something for you lurkers to do if you don't want to dive into the deep end would be to just throw suggestions for "blue control finishers". I'm pretty sure both the blue/x control players in my group last sunday just underestimate some cards (sphinx's tutelage ended up in an aggro players...

General MODO draft my Cube - Saturday the 14th Nov, noon PST

I'm just going to chime in to say that I think this streaming stuff is ballers. Fun direction for the site!

    Rasmus Riptide Cube (360 Unpowered)

I write and theorize a shit lot on this board and then I play occasionally and that definitely brings me back into reality. We hooked up with some new peeps that drafted with us and had some really insightful things to say. I've done an order prior to the draft that led to a revamped cube...

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

life from the loam How do I make this card worth playing? Rebuying a fetch or two really isn't something I think is something someone in my cube should spend two mana for.

Yes, probably. But it'll also destroy the x/1 creatures player which is why it's way to swingy arguably.

Can't we make an argument for on color duals and fetches to be a bomb?

Arachnogenesis really seems like it'll clog up the board completely.

    General [Design Discussion] Perfect Imbalance

But not you've made the assumption that you're experience is the definitive experience and that we shouldn't have this discussion. I'm not playing other peoples cubes, so I'm not primarily interested in those meta games. It's possibly arbitrary, but as I make the choice of not wanting a solved...

    General [Design Discussion] Perfect Imbalance

Both of those points feel like assumptions and/or just based on taste, would you care to elaborate on why it is a "non-existent problem"?
  18. Rasmus Källqvist

    General [Design Discussion] Perfect Imbalance

Yes, I agree. I could reason that it is desirable because a solved meta is undesirable and that changing the meta avoids that problem. But I think I'm making some assumptions? I usually try to fall back on the thumb rule that we want to maximize the number of meaningful decisions we can...

    General [Design Discussion] Perfect Imbalance

Isn't this essentially that we want to avoid the roshambo rock-paper-scissors? The kind of meta game that boils down to "Am I playing rock? Great, most of the field is scissors today!".
