Absolutely. Cube isn't really a raw-power format. Even though high-power cards are usually better than low power cards, a medium or low power dude that fills a spot in the curve or is synergistic with a certain type of deck is going to perform better than some random bomb.

    Highball: Legacy of the Rails

I just updated the Cube Cobra list to have all of the cards tagged by the update in which they were added. Cards that were removed and then added again show each update they were added. Here's the link so you can check it out!

I like Seaordain more than Scour All Possibilities. Seaordain is an instant speed play, and being able to scry at instant speed is good as well. You usually have to take your entire turn off to flashback Scour All Possibilities because it's a sorcery. I don't think the ability to draw an extra...

    Card/Deck Low Power Card Spotlight

The only reason Oketra's Monument is good for cube is because it makes creatures whenever you cast a creature spell and helps you overwhelm the opponent with a wide board state. A 1/1 Creature is worth a lot more than draining the opponent for 1 since it can theoretically deal a lot more damage...

    New year, new... Cube?

Part 1: The Good So this cube does a lot of different things very well. I think you've done a very good job of layering together cards which can go into multiple decks without necessarily needing to be played as a "23rd card." Stuff like Anax, Hardened in the Forge can work in both your bread...

    New year, new... Cube?

I think you have a lot of really interesting ideas at play here! There seems to be a lot of overlap between your archetypes, and there is some masterful design craftsmanship at play here. I'd like to give you a full critique, but I do have a number of design criticisms which probably are not...

I'd say that the three best are: Lovestruck Beast The First Iroan Games Boon Satyr Lovestruck Beast comes down early and hits hard, provided that you have a 1/1 creature. It's great off the back of a Llanowar Elves type creature especially. Luckily, Lovestruck Beast doesn't have any built-in...

    Sets (UND) Unsanctioned full spoiler

This. Of the new cards in this set, the only one that I feel is truly cube-worthy is Flavor Judge. Blanking their removal spell (provided that the in-game lore doesn't make sense) is very, very nice. My Selfless Spirit is now safe from being Murdered! Updated art for Timmy is good...

I don't think fight with fire really counts as a burn spell- it's more of a cross between Murder and Fireball, both of which I would categorize into other groups. That said- it's a very flexible card and I think it's worth playing for the reasons you mention above. Removal+Finisher is a good...

These are the ones I would consider playing, not including Fireball effects. Burst Lightning Chain Lightning Lightning Bolt Lightning Strike Searing Spear Searing Blaze Searing Blood Magma Jet Lava Dart Firebolt Flame Jab Shock Volcanic Hammer Incinerate The best burn is the cheap stuff that...

    Building the Noob Cube

2-color archetypes. Let's go over each of the 2 color archetypes in the cube. Each two-color pair has a set of two identical "signpost" gold cards meant to help signal what that deck wants to be doing. Each color pair also has a hybrid card meant to fit with the primary theme of the color pair...

Is it not exciting as in it's not splashy or is it not exciting as in it's not a good card. Those are two very different things IMO.

Thank you guys! I am definitely going to use at least some of these. Also, I went through and counted words on the common/uncommon slots of m19 and 20 (not all of the way but enough to get a feel for the average) and it seems like I can have about 15 words per card before I start getting...

I need help finding Vanilla creatures (creatures with no abilities) and French Vanilla creatures (creatures with only keyword abilities) for my Noob Cube. I started populating the list and my average word count per card is already above what I want it to be. Try to make sure they're reasonably...

    Building the Noob Cube

Building the Noob Cube I have a lot of friends who I am in the process of teaching Magic. The end goal, of course, is to broaden my local cube community. However, I have a problem- my cube is too complicated for magic new players to fully enjoy. For example, I recently had one of my friends...

Do you think Bend or Break is a card anyone is going to actually play? It doesn't seem that good, especially in a fairly high-powered environment like yours. I say if Ravages of War has been good in your white aggro decks, then don't replace it because it already has shown results.

Sets [THB] Theros Beyond Death *SPOILER*

I figured as much. Functionally, the cards are very similar except for the fact that the Chimera can reasonably be cast on turn three and doesn't have vigilance. Either way, I like the card .
