No, it's not just you. Most of the enchantment cards have been pretty bad so far. Take this card: It's cheap enough to be relevant to an enchantments player, but the ability is just awful. If this said "draw a card," or even "draw a card. This ability only triggers once each turn," it would...

    Sets (VOW) Crimson Vow

You do realize the game designers think Kicker is too broad, right? Yes, a lot of things can be done by brute-forcing a kicker template, but they wouldn't be as clean or elegant as just being spun off into their own mechanic. According to MaRo, the designs with this new "Cleave" mechanic...

They can't put the counters on themselves, unfortunately. You need a second creature to part the counters on. That's not necessarily a dealbreaker for some people but it does make the card highly context dependent.

I'm adding this to my Emotional Support Card module.

Probably not. At this point, enchantress really has the number of good cheap enchantments it needs to be a viable archetype. We've got great ramp via Utopia Sprawl and Wild Growth, card draw with Omen of the Sea and Abundant Growth, threats with Boon Satyr, The First Iroan Games, and Herald of...

Between Return to Ravnica and Magic Origins, one of the booster packs in a prerelease kit would be replaced with a "seeded" pack focusing on cards of one color or faction. Before Khans of Tarkir, these kits had locked promo rares with alternate art. Starting with Battle for Zendikar, seeded...

Theme Booster packaging! I really like the look of the vampires in this set. The Vampire on the 5-color "Vampires" theme booster kind of looks like Jenna Coleman, the actress who played Clara Oswold in Doctor Who. I don't think the "Vampires" booster being 5-color is any indication of vampires...

OOOh I like this idea. Chromantiflayer is definitely a viable option, then!

    Sets (VOW) Crimson Vow

What, should every card just use charge counters? I think flavored counters on individual cards are cool, such as page counters on Mindmaze Tome, ember counters on Smoldering Egg, Slumber counters on Arixmethes, mining counters on Gemstone Mine and so on. They make cards a little more...

I think people have different definitions of what each of these terms encompasses. "Mulldrifters" are often used to describe any creature with a reasonable ETB ability, even if it's bigger than a 2/2 or something. Likewise, some people use "Baneslayer" to include any creature that doesn't...

Do you want a midrange threat or a cheat target?

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

Yes. I think it would just be a Tainted Adversary variant at that point, simply swapping the flexibility of the adversary for a larger body. I still probably wouldn’t play with the card with that change, although that’s because I think it would be a little below where I would want a 6-drop...
