    General W/B Lifegain

Well, since lifegain sources are so easy to come by, you could also just run very few, relatively strong payoffs. They would almost act like buildarounds ymand your deck would need more of a plan than getting that one card to trigger, but it's more interesting deckbuilding anyway if you have to...

    Card/Deck [MCD] Sweeperz

I love sweepers too. They're swingy but their mere existence adds a lot of excitement - for the players and even spectators. But as I am running a lower powered cube that's not super fast, I have to be very careful in how I balance them. I run these currently: Hallowed Burial Rout Time Wipe...

General What are your favorite mechanics that merge Cool Things with Winning Things?

It's funny, but as a designer AND player, I've always been more intrigued by cards and mechanics that make you wanna do usually suboptimal things. And it goes beyond just preferring zombies about better non-zombies because I might have picked up a Cemetery Reaper. Bloodrage Brawler Anger...

    General W/B Lifegain

The biggest problem with lifegain is still, even though we've had a few more iterations in sets, that the payoffs are still mostly narrow cards. I even thozght about removing the archetype, but it's my gfs favorite thing to draft and play, so I instead expanded it into green ... I mean, she's...

    General [CMR] Commander Legends Previews

It's a card that I for some strange reason originally dismissed, but now I'm cubing it. Equipment/Artifacts, Landfall, Goblin tribal ... almost all my red decks want this. And so do I. You could also say "Einfach Toggo!"

Oooh, I forgot about ransack the lab ... now I have to figure out if I like this more than Underworld Connections ...

    Card/Deck Low Power Card Spotlight

I have the classics Night's Whiser and Read the Bones already, as well as Foreboding Fruit, which plays nicely into my devotion subtheme. I'll add Underworld Connections, which has been good before and just got pushed out because I had space issues.

Hm, yeah that sounds about right. I might have enough room to still try it at some point, as I can't help but get a little excited by that card (I love drawing cards in all colors), but I will keep that in mind to not fall for it's agency trap.

    Card/Deck Low Power Card Spotlight

Hm, okay, the mixed reactions here didn't help it. I guess what makes me ultimately not include it, is that you also need to be creature heavy. I'd like the majority of my card draw spells to be flexible and also go into something like a very creature-light {U/B}-control list.

    Card/Deck Low Power Card Spotlight

Grim Discovery How good is this card? I run eleven fetches (full cycle + one evolving wilds), sixteen cycle lands (including ash barrens, the mono color onslaught ones and the bicycles completed with "customs"), six canopy lands (including a rakdos custom), two man lands and seven lands that...

But doesn't the Bearer add more agency and potentially excitement? Players would feel clever when they set up the perfect scenario or use this as a great answer against an opposing wrath. The devotee just sits there and if you don't have anything better to do you can play a 2-mana zombie eot...

Which of these purple {2}{B} creatures, which pay you off for having your things die and have names starting with "Liliana's" is better/more fun? Liliana's Devotee Liliana's Standard Bearer

The Krushok is maybe better in non-madness decks which are aggressive. But I think the cheaper madness cost the goliath offers puts it in front of the krushok in most decks, especially in combination with the higher base stats. I'm not arguing it is wrong to play the krushok, bit I think more...

The reason I am sticking with Goliath currently is the cheaper scavenge cost. I like it in something like an aggressive madness deck, where six mana is much more realistic than seven in the (hopefully) final stages of the game.

61 of your new additions are cards also in the CCC! Considering that I couldn't have any more respect of you as a cube designer and that I feel like I've learned a lot from you crusing these boards I am really flattered! Also happy to see you trying out green madness and I can't wait to hear...

Sets (AFR) Adventures in the Forgotten Realms Previews- Dripping with Flavor, and Excess Words!

Another important difference is, that in Magic you poay against your friends, in D&D you (usually) play with them together. Also, the dungeon master (the person who tells and leads the story) can still be harsh or nice to you. In my D&D experiences die rolling has never lead to feel bad...
