    General Fight Club

Reclamation is more versatile but more mana intensive, Cemetery is a cleaner design though weaker in a vacuum due to timing and restrictions. Depends on your playgroup, but if you're looking for the more powerful option I'd go with Reclamation. Cemetery is much simpler to play with on autopilot.

The appeal of cube, to me, has always been the pursuit of creating a "perfect" draft environment for play. I'm probably never going to reach that point, but the journey has been interesting enough to keep me tuned in to each release of new cards to tinker around with over the last 6 years. It's...

    General Fight Club

Are you just looking for a looting effect or a curve-topper once you've exhausted resources? Rix Maadi Reveler will consistently be a looting bear with a kicker mode of occasionally refilling your hand. The other two are late game plays to generate some card advantage when you're running low...

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

Pack Rat is not discard support, it warps games around itself if left unanswered. You just play out your copy and ride it to victory if your opponent can't interact in a meaningful way with removal or a board wipe. It just completely dumbs down any decision making in a match. Higher powered...

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

It's usually just going to be a vanilla 3/1 for 2. It's good on occasion in the later game when both players are topdecking, but in the average case scenario it's just an early beater. It's just fine as a card, not too impressive.

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

Power level dependent. Too slow for higher powered cubes that want efficiency and a lower curve, but if grindy 6+ mana cards can be deployed on the regular in your environment then it should be fine. Orzhov usually isn't doing anything all that interesting with gold slots so have at it.

Nah, he's saying Yawgmoth is the best of all those options in ideal circumstances, which I agree with. Yawgmoth is never really bad even without extensive support, he's just a very efficient package at his base. The 4 toughness body allows it to survive a lot of damage based removal, he's at the...

General 1-Drop Aggro vs. 2-Drop Aggro

It's absolutely dependent upon your power level. The Aggro gameplan is to play out multiple threats on the field to apply pressure early and often. By putting your opponent on the defensive, you can influence their potential blocks and how they utilize resources to mitigate your pressure. If you...

Sets [THB] Theros Beyond testing/includes thread

Played in just one Prerelease this time, but went pretty well going 3-1 with this sweet Grixis pool: Ones 2 Grim Physician 2 Omen of the Dead 1 Traveler's Amulet Twos 1 Lampad of Death's Vigil 1 Protean Thaumaturge 1 Tymaret, Chosen from Death 3 Discordant Piper 2 Omen of the Sea 1...

    Card/Deck Blink

With the introduction of these cards over the last year: Soulherder Charming Prince Thassa, Deep-Dwelling You definitely have the backbone to make this strategy work in UW with minimal investment as far as card slots are concerned. There are already a ton of ETB effects available between...

Sets [THB] Theros Beyond testing/includes thread

After seeing it on a few of your inclusions and re-reading the card, I'm going to be giving Anax a run as well. Being able to thousand cuts my opponent in a B/R deck with a combo of recursive dudes + Goblin Bombardment sounds hilariously fun. Bummer that he lost the human typeline though.

Sets [THB] Theros Beyond testing/includes thread

So far I've got the following cards on my Acquire/Test list: alirios, enraptured Thassa's Intervention Thassa, Deep-Dwelling In blue it's mostly just more support for the UW Blink archetype. Alirios has intrigued me since I first saw it as it's a lot of stats on a decent body and can get...

    General Fight Club

Beast Whisperer is okay, the problem I have with it is it's place on the curve. The 4 drop slot is when you start deploying bigger threats to the board to start closing out the game (in my cube at least), and you don't really want to waste time on set-up cards without immediate impact unless you...

Sets [THB] Theros Beyond Death *SPOILER*

How unfortunate that this is all we're getting lore-wise from this set. This is the most compelling story that they've had in a while and there's a lot they could have worked with, but they chose to forego it entirely after the WAR debacle. You've got a compelling story, the classic hero's...

Sets [THB] Theros Beyond Death *SPOILER*

This set is very powerful, so many cool cards to try out as both standalones and build-arounds. I think a critical mass might be there for an Enchantress/Constellation theme to be viable in my cube, I'm going to definitely have to pore over a ton of cards and rework some things once this set is...

Sets [THB] Theros Beyond Death *SPOILER*

I like that weird black 3 drop that makes a goat, looks like something I killed in Dark Souls at some point. Creepy and Braids are going to be bffs. I'm not quite sure of how to evaluate Escape yet. It's kind of like Delve, but most of the cards so far have high mana costs + escape cost aside...

Sets [THB] Theros Beyond Death *SPOILER*

Klothys looks pretty sweet. Cheap to play, incidental graveyard hate, and does an impression of Sulfuric Vortex without being so obnoxious. Might give it a try.

    General Green four drop creatures

Wicked Wolf is the truth. A 3/3 that you can deploy as a kill spell early off green ramp is excellent removal in a color that doesn't get access to it very often. If you're ambitious like me and dream of pairing it with Soulherder hoo boy you've got a stew going right there.

I like the idea of them, but I don't think I've seen them be anywhere near as effective as the best case scenario in my head. I've had much more success with disruption on a body type creatures like Kitesail Freebooter than something like Inquisition of Kozilek or Duress. If you've run someone...

I pretty much go through periods of interest and disinterest when it comes to Magic. New sets will usually get me going again and interested in approaching the game, but I'll often go weeks or months just not really thinking about it at all. Currently doing that; I've got enough other things to...
