Oof. It's not looking good for the others. Another victory for Usher of the Fallen!

Can't play, but this experiment looked fun from the outside looking in, and your video piqued my interest, so I'ld happily join but only for the drafting portion if that's possible.

I have more ideas for some articles, but I'm purposefully postponing them because I don't want to create any expectations that I'm going to write weekly articles  It's probably not a bad advice to space them out a bit :D

I'm quite fond of the intro paragraph, that's a great hook! That 'boop' from the falling mic matched the beat perfectly though :')

Article Cross-Appeal in Cube — Recipes to Avoid the Pitfalls of Parasitic Archetypes

That is actually a great suggestion! I don't think I can port all of the concepts to the article easily. For example, it's hard to compare Goblin Matron and Gravecrawler, as their role in their respective tribes is so different. Considering how large of a portion of your deck a card checks isn't...

I don't have a sacrifice theme and I run both. They're both just great ways for red aggressive decks to gain some reach.

Gruesome Menagerie looks 1 mana too expensive for a deck interested in running enough 1-, 2-, and 3-drops to enable the card.

Moreover, my point never was to eliminate parasitism. It's okay to dedicate slots to aggro, but you can at least pick a few options that have more cross-appeal so your drafters has the option of pivoting into another archetype more easily when the right pieces for the aggro deck aren't showing...

Yeah, Manamorphose is definitely way less parasitic than Rite of Flame! Given that it completely replaces itself, you might be right that calling it parasitic is a bit of a stretch, and maybe I should edit the article!

If you're reading this chipzes, I'm not active on Reddit, but you're absolutely right, I'm talking about self-contained payoffs, not enablers! I changed the article, thanks for the feedback! :) I chose Manamorphose because it's also a {R/G} hybrid card, and because both cards don't increase...

It is unfortunate. I don't know that I'm running into an internal bias though. Mind you, we're both holding on to our own point of view pretty stubbornly, making you no less biased then me, I believe. To me it honestly sounds as if your article and Karsten's article run calculations that...

A CC card is the very opposite of a splash, but I do agree we shouldn't panic about the mana requirements when we are splashing a card. If you have a GW deck running a single Lightning Bolt because you're low on removal, you really don't need 10 red sources. That also has to do with the fact...

    General "Looking for a card"-Thread

Sorry, but hard disagree. I think your reasoning is fallacious. Say you do account for the odds of having your single BB card in hand, prompting you to lower the number of black mana sources you run. There are still going to be a number of games where you will have the BB card in hand on t2, and...

I disagree with this philosophy. You want to be able to cast it on turn 2 if you have it in your hand. The fact that you don't always have it in your hand by t2 doesn't mean you don't want a mana base that can support casting it on turn 2.

    General "Looking for a card"-Thread

It is an excellent card, but you need 14 black sources to reliably cast it on turn two. That's more than a typical two color deck can run, unless you really, really push the amount of fixing in your cube.
