I have definitely flagged this card for my MP cube, replacing Voldaren Bloodcaster as a tie between artifacts and sacrifice. Triggering the Manufactor is a huge bonus!

This seems like a creative way to cheat creatures into play. You could use Phyrexian Dreadnaught type cards (Hunted Phantasm, Eater of Days) or use a classic big creature and blink it. It's also good flood insurance, turning your lands into 2/2 for free.
