Oh, you mean like actual lands to make a pile with LftL? In that case Mystic Sanctuary could be a good fit to recur some important spells.

The 5 Dollar Fair 'Nuff Cube

Fun looking decks! I would love to see one of these Ligtning Greaves Swiftfoot Boots Anger Hammer of Purphoros Expedite so that a hasty Kessig Cagebreakers come out of nowhere and smash face.

    Nanonox's 1vs1 cube

100%. This is an experiment in trying to make explicit artifact payoffs in Black available rather than it being either a support color (with incidental artifacts) or a "hidden" artifact deck (colorless payoffs and open-ended Black cards that can use artifacts). Right now it's not looking great...

    Help refining my cube

I tried something similar with my first cube, trying to support all 10 wedges/shards. It was too much as Lady mentioned with isolated cards of each theme. Chris Taylor suggested I keep only 5 of the 10 combinations and it was the perfect advice. Give it a try!

    Nanonox's 1vs1 cube

I've been considering Cat/Oven ever since I added a few more food support cards (Astrid Peth, Samwise Gamgee, The Underworld Cookbook and Tough Cookie). I haven't quite pulled the trigger but you saying it's played out fine is a nice endorsement. The Dreadknight should work, but I already have...

A good point, but you don't need very many artifacts to make a 3/3 for 3 worthwhile. If it triggers once or twice you are already happy IMO. If you can support Emry, Lurker of the Loch, you can probably use the Engineer too. There is also the fact we are getting more and more colored artifacts...

    Nanonox's 1vs1 cube

Insidious Roots This new card from MKM has me really excited. It's a cheap, self-contained mana engine with a high ceiling that ties several themes together. I think it deserves some spotlight! We just talked about Imotekh, the Stormlord that has a similar trigger counting artifacts leaving...

If I can avoid adding a keyword or mechanic as a one of in the cube, I will. Since there are a bunch of good alternatives that are pretty similar, I am ok skipping it. I do think it is one of the best because it can affect the board and the stack.

My first impressions for my 1vs1 cube Include Aftermath Analyst Amazing GY payoff that is also an enabler on a solid body. Really excited to try this one out. Demand Answers A glue card that is competitively costed. Carnage Interpreter Scary card for both you and the opponent. I am going...

    Nanonox's 1vs1 cube

Thanks for the suggestions. I've considered the artifact aggro approach in Black, with Vault Skirge, Triarch Praetorian, Scrapheap Scrounger and friends doing some decent work as well. It's a good deck that comes together sometimes, the issue is the payoff. Skorpekh Lord is fine, but ultimately...

    Card/Deck Boros spells aggro

Showdown of the skalds Another nice spell velocity card that buffs your team! I also like the additionof Helping Hand and Recommission. Hearth Elemental Can also be good if you randomly have spells in the GY and the adventure side triggers your payoffs. Questing Druid is a great add there too...

    Nanonox's 1vs1 cube

Getting Black involved with artifacts The artifact theme in my cube is pretty expansive, to the point where it is almost an artifact cube. Yet Black doesn't participate as explicitly as I would like. Reanimate Blood Artist Stalactite Stalker Yawgmoth's Will Cheat, sacrifice, +1/+1 counters...

I enjoyed the format, it's nice to be able to look at the card while reading your thoughts. Especially with new cards since I get to familiarize myself with the art and feel of the set. I am thinking the Forensic Gadgeteer has a shot in the vintage cube due to the Basalt Monolith combo.

This looks like a fun one. - Doubling up on your sacrifice outlets can be a big swing if you are getting 2x Blood Artist triggers - Wrath protection that isn't too expensive to leave up - Alpha strike or defend and finish them off with the flyers the turn after - Trigger your Jinnie Fay...

How often does that happen though? This might be me being too focused on my own environments, but with the amount of playables you get in a draft, I have a tough time believing this would even matter. If you don't care about the GY, you probably just play another 2 drop that is more synergistic...

    Nanonox's 1vs1 cube

I agree with that, but at the same time with double shock and double fetch, the life loss of the Ancient Tomb really adds up, creating an interesting risk/reward dilemma. Grim Monolith is probably even safer than what you think since these are cards from my MP cube which has higher mana value...

The most important part of the Wayfinder for me is the milling. In that department, the Analyst is just as efficient (since one of the cards from the Satyr goes to hand). So is the body + ability better than a land in hand? Most of my GY and land decks are on the slow side, trying to recur...

I'm in the same boat, love these hybrid split cards and they would be among the first spells I include in a lower power cube. I also like the little extras they bring: - Numbers for Yuriko, Tiger's Shadow or Collect Evidence: big number - Can sometimes count as two types for Delirum - Can...
