While personally I'm more of a Canlander enjoyer, starting at 20 and removing multiplayer goes a long way to making me feel welcome in a format. If you haven't tried Canlander or Duel Commander, give it a shot. I know we frown on Oko and Minsc and Boo and The initiative, but I think it's nice...

I think like reprive I might make a version of this with universes within frame, otherwise unchanged. Unless I can find siiiiiiick art somewhere for a borderless version.

Gavin has now posted a video about the cards from the Gencon and Barcelona events: A lot of it is really commander specific as mentioned, but there's some cool stuff here, and they're all sweet even if I won't play with them :P

I'd say only cube. Maybe duel commander, I know very little about that format, but modern/legacy have more powerful options available, less color restriction, and some matchups flat do not involve creatures.

Fun fact #1: Sad robot was originally submitted at 2UG, and made colorless because mirrodin by development. Fun fact #2: My copy of sad robot from mirrodin is signed by an old friend, there is a moustache drawn on the art, and "Take that Jens Thorén!" in the text box.

So my gut is that you'd lose the war over who draws the last card if one person is willing to play 100% of the lands they draw, and the other is only willing to play 50% of the lands they draw (as taken from the sample dandan list on TCGplayer) It certainly changes the dynamic of the game, you...

Correct, but you also can't win, since any Dandans you cast die instantly. You can put it off, but you can't avoid playing islands entirely.

What forgetful fish format lets you win without Dandan? Like you need to play an island at some point, no?

Absolutely! But miles doesn't have that luxury, or (I assume) there'd be a whole bunch more versions to vote on :P You know, a lot of the reasons you like it are the reasons I don't like it, but that's art baybeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Still love Dominik Mayer though Okay rant incoming: Sidebar to...

Zero love for running cards so textless I can't even read the name :P Unfortunately I don't really have anything positive to say about these. Comic promo is very ACTION POSE, Mystic Archive is way too out there for me, my beloved borderless frame is being hamstrung by the hammiest flavor text...

Oh dear I read that as Cataclysm not smokestack. Kinda like a more pushed World Queller? (I think the variant on this effect that actually encourages you to diversify the card types among your permanents is Cataclysmic Gearhulk given I don't like LD)

Oh damn. I'm actually looking for stuff that encourages you to have a diversity of card types among your permanents! I'm a bit worried about how wrathy this looks but I could def be convinced. It might need to not be an artifact creature, that makes it really good.

As much as I want to say that living death is only kinda a sweeper, you're probably right. Maybe this is a prime example of enhanced density coming from tutor effects etc Man I used to run demonic tuutor++ and it would be SWEET for these purposes:

I think a big part of living death is clearing the board. Also: I do NOT want to play that mirror match, so if you include a few living deaths in your cube, squadron them

They're honestly quite solid. Weirdly enough the white one is the least appealing to hardcast IMO, so those 4 and tithe seems like a sweet roundout, since getting 2 lands with tithe isn't that hard with fetchlands in the mix

I think that gameday frame is a relic of when we didn't have good frames to use. I also don't love that art, so easy original for me
