Yeah, I ran Conquering Manticore early on, but it wasn't a good fit in the six drop slot. At that spot, creatures need to be strong defensively, as the mana cost is exclusively in the domain of control or midrange. Manticore wants to be aggressive, but Zealous Conscripts has shown us that the...

Uh, ease off there, Lucas. Nobody is stopping any discussion. My advice to you would be to stop assuming everyone is out there to criticize or 'get' you; especially on the Interwebs, it might be prudent to grow a thicker skin. I run Loxodon Smiter, and I'd more than happily cube a {2}{G} 4/4!

sadly i don't think it will... at 5 mana, i don't think there's any number where a vanilla creature is playable in cube. gotta start slapping on some keywords at that point

incidentally I just threw this in my list, as basically a mono-colour Magister of Worth Phyrexian Rebirth

whoops, i totally misunderstood the question  agree with Diakonov, 5/6 is a good starting point edit: on second thought, maybe 6/6? Deadbridge Goliath didn't make any waves when he came out, and he was a guy with upside

for what it's worth, i feel like green needs a gravy t more than black does. it feels more in flavour, too

my take 3 cmc: 4/4 - Loxodon Smiter is a fine man 1 cmc: 2/2 - Isamaru, Diregraf Ghoul, and Phantasmal Bear are all borderline cubeable 2 cmc: ?? - no one has ever clamoured for Watchwolf or Kalonian Tusker. not sure if some extreme p/t combination would be playable, like 1/5 or 5/1

Yeah, on first reading, Whisperwood Elemental seems like a cross between Creakwood Liege and Wolfbriar Elemental, but with more upside. The five spot got really crowded in green in the last two odd years, but it might be worth squeezing him in regardless. On second thought, he could even take...

    Card/Deck Humans

FSR had the best idea, hidden deep within his own cube thread: errata this bad girl to say Human. (It took Chris Taylor and his sharp eye to fish that idea out into the open.) Amrou Scout What other tribal cards from over the years would you also consider slapping the word Human over top...

I agree, this is awesome. I think I'm going to break my no-custom-cards rule with this one. Do you have any other rebel/human swaps in your cube?

    General Blue creatures

Yeah, I will agree that tuning reanimator to be fun and powerful but not too consistent in cube has been challenging. Exhume an Iona or Griselbrand into Reanimate is nobody's idea of a good time, but Merfolk Looter to dig for your Dread Return on a Sheoldred only to see it eat a Swords to...

This has been my experience as well. You have your: {U}{W} control decks {U}{B} control decks {U}{R} delver + burn decks {U}{W} tempo decks {U}{G} value decks {U}{G} ramp decks {U}{B} reanimator decks And then any combination of the above, like Bant tempo, Esper control, and BUG ramp +...

    Card/Deck Green Noncreature Spells

I'm... I'm not Chris! But yeah, Coalition Relic kind of puts anything - everything! - in green to shame. Growth Spasm, for one. I think it's fine in higher power environments, where green is doing things more unfair than Rampant Growth. But in lower power environments, the colourless ramp &...

    Card/Deck Green Noncreature Spells

Yeah, calling aggro "mindless" or the equivalent is a common mistake made by people who don't play aggro decks much. I think PV said it best in a recent article - aggro involves just as many decisions as any other archetype, only that they tend to all be crammed into the early game. Sequencing...

    Card/Deck Green Noncreature Spells

Yeah, I banned Coalition Relic long ago. Like you said, turn four Inferno Titans meant that midrange - especially of the Jund variety - became the king of the roost too easily. I haven't missed it since I cut it. Growth Spasm sounds like a good suggestion - thanks!

    Card/Deck Green Noncreature Spells

I feel like I want one "explosive" ramp spell to help out the green ramp archetype, which needs a little boost if it's to hit seven mana or more. Preferably not a creature, so that it doesn't get sauteed the minute it lands; though, if it's good enough, I'm all ears. Suggest one, or help me pick...

    General Blue creatures

yeah blue's creatures can make for good tempo decks and good control decks, but it doesn't do midrange very well. that's fine by me, as not every colour can be good at every archetype. some of the many cheap value creatures for control, that do block well Augur of Bolas Ludevic's Test...
