    anotak's cube (budget-ish)

Wow. Good job recording all those decklists. That must be a ton of work for you each draft! If you want to prevent this from happening in the future - I mean, sitting out always sucks - you could prepare a booster pack of sixty-odd cards to inject into your cube for these exact scenarios...

    General Starting my own cube

Go budget. You could either set a maximum dollar amount limit on what you want to spend on the cube (e.g. $200), or a dollar amount limit per card (e.g. $1). There are a ton of older rares that are sweet for cube and fulfill the aggro quotient quite nicely without breaking the bank.

I love this set. So gosh darned flavourful. And, oh, hey, it's a sweet red one-drop, too!

I'm on the fence with heroic, too. Other than Rancor, I don't think I run a single beneficial aura, never mind the often maligned combat tricks. How are other people planning to prepare for heroic? Jam all the Mutagenic Growths and Hyena Umbras you can find? Or treat the entire mechanic as...

General Decks that have 3-0'd your cube

Something was very, very wrong with both of our decks.

    Eric Chan's Modern cube (405)

This is eerily similar to what I drafted in real life last night. In an actual draft, you'd get at least a couple of fetches, as there are now twenty in the cube, so your Loam would've been live. And even without the Rites, I'd probably still run your two white duals and throw in the Condemn...

General Decks that have 3-0'd your cube

Play of the night: Calvin: Oh man, you have it, don't you. Sigh. Attack with this assorted mish mash of creatures. Me: Makeshift Mannequin back my Pelakka Wurm. Gain 7. Block your stupid thing. Calvin: Wait! Before that, Slayers' Stronghold your Wurm. Get outta here!

Very, very happy with Dissolve, probably more than I should be. I'd already wanted to run a second copy of Dissipate, but never quite pulled the trigger. Now I can finally dump that Logic Knot! Is it just me, or is this just about the best cube card ever? People are always killing...

Yeah, I'm happy that it exists, because while Murder fell a little short, the prevalence of planewalkers in cube means that a monocolour instant-speed Dreadbore is just what the doctor ordered. It happens to slot in nicely for Eyeblight's Ending here, too, even though I'll miss Lucas asking me...

    Candy Crush Saga Review

You got me. I'd avoided this game after reading about its devious monetization techniques, but I didn't realize there was an actual game behind all that psychological witchcraft. Downloading it now. It's all your fault.

    anotak's cube (budget-ish)

Nice report! For what it's worth, I'm a big fan of Day of Judgment over Wrath of God, so much so that I've doubled up on Day in my Modern cube even though I could easily run Wrath in concert. Regeneration isn't overpowered as it is, and with other cards like Incinerate also nuking regenerators...

The more I think about it, the more I want Omenspeaker in my list. Augur of Bolas whiffs way more often than I'd like, and while Scry 2 isn't quite in the same league as drawing a card, fixing the next couple of draw steps while holding off ragtag riff-raff is what controllish blue decks want to...

Oops, took a bit more work on my end to get the forum software's rampant auto-linking under control. Should be working now.

As the defacto leader of the OG Garruk fan club, I have to say I love Xenagos's design, too. Generating mana as a plus ability feels very powerful, and while a hasty 2/2 bear is probably worse than a 3/3 beast in the midgame, that it doesn't cost any loyalty is mind-boggling. The Selesnya and...

    Tinker 3.0 Release

Whoops, one minor revision. I think we'll have to eliminate the http:// in the url attribute, otherwise this forum software does some funky things with it. [cubedeck="eBrot's BantSurvivalPod from CubeTutor.com" url="cubetutor.com/cubedeck/18123"]

SWEET! Just got an idea. Maybe if you added url as an attribute, I could link back the the page where the deck lives on your site. [cubedeck="eBrot's BantSurvivalPod from CubeTutor.com" url="http://cubetutor.com/cubedeck/18123"]

    anotak's cube (budget-ish)

If I could offer one tip, it would be to load up on one-drops. The aggro decks above could really use more punch right out of the gates, and I find that the best way to achieve that is by providing additional redundancy at the low end of the curve. If you use the CubeTutor analysis page, and...

    Tinker 3.0 Release

Right now, there isn't a slot for sideboard cards, and that's only because I couldn't really figure out a good way to lay out the cards visually. But it sounds like a good idea for future inclusion, so maybe we can go with a "Sideboard" category after lands. On my end, I'll ignore it for now...
