    General Making green more interactive

I've actually tried most of your suggestions, but I eventually found myself forced to cut them. They are good cards, but they lack the raw power level the other colours have. Their lack of synergy and reliance on raw stats also make them not as fun as I would like them to. Esika's Chariot is a...

    General Making green more interactive

I think you are right that it's part of Green's nature, it should be asking more questions. Still, there's a limit and, frankly, even if I give it more power, there simply are not many cards that can compete with other colours. If you play green, it's better to play Overlord of the Balemurk or...

    General Making green more interactive

Green is, pound for pound, the weakest colour in my cube. And the reason for it is not because it lacks raw power, but simply because it lacks enough interaction to actually cover its bases. It has little removal and even fewer ways to interact with the stack, making it a less central colour...

Is there any actual use for a Howling Mine deck in cube or something similar?

Enduring Curiosity vs Edric, Spymaster of Trest Like many, the release of Enduring Curiosity was a good excuse to cut the frail and multicoloured Edric in favour of a monocolour, more broadly playable card. Yet, I'm growing unsure if it was the right choice. Enduring Curiosity is good, but it's...

Card/Deck Your top 5 cards of all time!

Those are all great designs, I'm also a bit "nostalgic" about them. To me they capture that golden era of Extended that had new, interesting toys to play with but all tied in a strong sense of fairness. I think the best example of this is that they all featured in different versions of The Rock...

    Nanonox's 1vs1 cube

No, I don't think you are overrating it. If your cube is anything like mine, and it is, then white-based aggro is already the best. Parallax Wave is not going to make or break the archetype, but it will provide it an extra tool you may not want it to have. It's a bit like Living Death, which...

    Nanonox's 1vs1 cube

Wait, you AREN'T running Parallax Wave? You absolutely should, it's a banger. It's not a replacement for a normal wrath, but it's an absolute staple. It's good in aggro, midrange and control, it has a ton of synergies and is both fun to play against and with.

    Nanonox's 1vs1 cube

Cori-Steel Cutter is fantastic, I tried it because you included it and it's a fantastic inclusion. 1) Triggers with any spell, not just instant or sorceries. 2) It has a great baseline as a 2/2 Haste, Prowess creature 3) It can trigger two turns in a row to attack with two monks, a 3/3 and a...

    Nanonox's 1vs1 cube

No, you are not alone! I think Izzet spells is a far more difficult archetype to support than we give it credit for. It has this inherent weakness in that it needs a high density of both creatures and spells and the deck doesn't work without either. My thoughts: I tried Saheeli, Sublime...

    Nanonox's 1vs1 cube

Boros is, de facto, the best colour combination in most cubes. All other colours durdle, Boros just hits face and disrupts which is what actually wins games. First, I think you are right about the snowballing threats. I have cut or avoided all of them at some point. I run Psychic Frog, frankly...

Extremely poor. You can easily spare one mana. It's impossible to spare 2 mana on top of other costs.

General Archetype suggestions for a Lands Matter cube?

I think lands is a varied archetype, you can focus on quite different things with it: - Putting lands into play - Discarding lands for effect - Getting specific lands into play - Sacrificing lands - Playing lands from the graveyard - Ramping - Aggro lands - Midrange - Etc. I would start by...

    Nanonox's 1vs1 cube

The main ones are spell-slinger decks, where you get several rewards from a single card (Haste, extra power, spell trigger, second hit later) and aggro graveyard decks where getting free cards is huge.

Earthcraft Cryptolith Rite You can power down the effect and use Cryptolith Rite, but there's no need to, Earthcraft is already limited enough. Chord of Calling Fantastic, widely useful card. It's a tutor, it's instant-speed, not too expensive and allows decks to have more variety by...

    Nanonox's 1vs1 cube

Crop Rotation is not a bad choice if you can justify it on its own terms. I absolutely recommend both Dreadhorde Arcanist (fun, unique, great in both draft and play) and Reckless Charge (Not the most powerful card, but does not suffer from 24th card syndrome and is strong in the right places)

    General CBS

For me the problem is not the speed. 1 mana is the perfect cost for Stifle. I just don't want it to blow up lands for a mere 1 mana.

    General CBS

I would love a non-land Stifle. I love the card, it's a great, simple design that has a ton of gameplay value...but the fact that it acts as a 1-mana Strip Mine with fetchlands just ruins it for me. Were it not for that, I would cube it. Note that it wrecks Storm, though.
