Is there a list somewhere of the game settings used?

General Is this results oriented thinking? (I lost.)

Yeah, this is a me-format, with some modifications by somebody else on the forums. I've yet to try it with passing packs, but it sounds much better.

I played it once, so I am going to say no. No tech discovered or used.

Card/Deck Someone sell me on Birthing Pod (but first, long backstory)

How many lands do you run? I think on average my players still have 7-8 basics in their decks. (9-10 nonbasics)

Such blatant disregard for the ordering of the color pie.

Isn't there a BG ramp spell from RTR that puts cards in the graveyard?

Yeah, I own Towerfall and played it recently at a party. It's fun times, especially with 4 Gamecube controllers. The people there weren't really hardcore gamers at all, but everyone managed to take at least a match (FFA, first to 10 kills), with lots of smiles all around.

Yeah, I'm in agreement with ahadabans here. CML, you don't have to agree, but if you're going to disagree try to do so reasonably and respectfully.

I do need a Gamecube, maybe, but I have 4 controllers already. I've just been playing Melee on my computer.

It's okay, we can stick to Smash 4 when you're here.

Card/Deck Someone sell me on Birthing Pod (but first, long backstory)

This is why you need stuff like Voice of Resurgence, Blade Splicer and Kitchen Finks to pod into. Birthing Pod, upon casting, is a tempo and card loss, so you need stuff that can make up for the lost value. It's also not a great line to play Pod on T2 with 3 mana, usually better to develop...

Fox theoretically has the strongest tools available to him. At "perfect" levels of play, Fox is the theoretical best. What makes Fox interesting is that he's a bit of a... semi-glass cannon. He's at a weight where other characters can combo the mess out of him, but he also has strong...

Well, the Top 4 at Evo played 7 different characters, so I guess the diversity is okay. The problem with Fox is that most players are actually worse by playing him. I just can't root for Armada. The other Smashers feel so much more charismatic.

Isn't that what we have the Fight Club thread for? :)

I'd consider Shriekmaw to be more of a Doom Blade. Well, when I ran two of them, I classified one as a 2-drop and one as a 5-drop, but I'd most likely "file" it under the 2-mana spell category.

If you don't get out of it it just keeps going, basically til death-ish.

Both players agree not to chain-grab (grab the opponent, throw them, grab them again) each other. It's a much more skill-testing and entertaining matchup without it being nonstop chaingrabs.

Yeah, I saw the Ken v Westballz set on YouTube. It's like 3:30 of actual gameplay across two games, and Westballz looked uncharacteristically sloppy. Ken, to his credit, played a pretty tight set, punished well and set up several really nice Ken combos.

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

It's awful. I have a friend who wants to always use it. Whenever he drafts against me I let him just put it into his deck for free (it's not in the cube), and when he plays against me I let him put it in his opening hand every time, and it still seems awful.
