General Print this Wizards! (So I can put it in my cube)

How on earth can creatures on the stack be tapped? Aren't they spells when they're on the stack anyways?

General Decks that have 3-0'd your cube

Agent is as ridiculous as you would expect. Look at the targets. There are so many Legacy-quality cards to hit. Main thing is to hold the Agent if they have an empty board, lest you cascade into a kill spell.

The Dandy Cube (Chris Taylor's Cube)

You may be right, but I haven't seen it happen with Shackles yet. It's also another one of those cards that gets better the slower the format. I've got my eye on it, but only have about 4 - 5 drafts with it in the cube and I don't recall it dominating any games yet. If somebody pulls together a...

Yeah, all of this should probably be in the GBS thread. Regarding your changes, can you elaborate on these cards: unfulfilled desires twilight shepherd mindslicer shard lands

So, one of the joys of being a first-time website owner is poking around in Google Analytics to see what actually brings people to your site. Our search traffic has been rising by the day up from 5% of our traffic last week to over 10% now. Most of the search queries are hidden, but some are...

The Dandy Cube (Chris Taylor's Cube)

I think you've identified the main ones, but I also think Balance is stronger than you give it credit for. A two-mana wrath is super valuable. Cards from that list I don't run: Treachery (but only because I wanted to try Vedalken Shackles) Balance Wurmcoil Engine Elspeth, Knight Errant Maze of...

Well, I meant in terms of cube. Even if there are more players in one color (blue), it's very well possible to have archetypes that are so weak they are beyond the range of self-correction. If the self-correction was stronger there wouldn't be years worth of articles about <insert archetpe>...

General Baseless Speculation: Will Modern Masters be a good draft set?

Ah, yeah, I didn't really think about MTGO. I mean, I knew, because everybody has been tweeting about phantom drafts, but in my mind I was still thinking about the comments from people who say "I signed up for one of my stores two MM drafts!"

Starcraft is a really good example of game design. Anyone can see Starcraft and immediately know that the goal of design is not to power max. It's to put the power in interesting places. The main challenge of designing something like Starcraft is to create the most enjoyable gameplay you can...

General Baseless Speculation: Will Modern Masters be a good draft set?

My theory is that most people won't evaluate MM critically, as the limited supply means that many people won't be able to draft it enough to get beyond the novelty.

    CML's Cube (405, polychromatic)

That's a lot to digest, and I read it all, but I don't really know that I can engage all of it. I do wonder about this line though: I think criticism is extremely helpful, especially to those who can take it. But I think it's important to be able to filter out what criticism is helpful and...

    CML's Cube (405, polychromatic)

I think part of the problem is that Lena Dunham is so prolific at such a young age that she gets a great deal of criticism. I'm glad she's done the work she has, and even with flaws, I'm usually glad to have consumed it. I don't know if your reaction is more to her work or more to the articles...

Yeah, I've been meaning to write an article around this general topic for a long time. Design is much more about making sure the strong things are fun than making sure the strong things are balanced. Balance is relatively easy to achieve. The entire sword conversation kind of misses the point...

Yeah, I'll continue to watch Girls, as it's pretty much tailor-made for my demographic, but I wasn't super thrilled with Season 2. Also, I try not to criticize her directly as it only emphasizes the fact that she is three months younger than me and has done much much more in life than I likely...
