I'm quite thrilled about getting another cycle of "spell lands", since the one from Innistrad had pretty varying power levels among the color pairs. I for instance much prefer skemfar elderhall and littjara mirrorlake to the Innistrad GB and UG lands.

Language is contextual, the prefix "multi" just means several. Since mtg is usually played with two players, it's sensible for "several players" to refer to more than two.

Oh good point! Makes it even nicer to switch out some cards I have to the ones with the new frame :) Generally find the new wording to be much easier to read.

It's played in a bunch of constructed decks so I think at the very least it's playable. I like that it steals the creature for several turns, makes for a better tempo swing.
