The biggest question about all of this is what the L stands for.

I think it's a good general principle. Things can be desirable without me being owed them by someone, whether it be attention from women or money from everyone. Also fedoras are sweet, I would wear them if hats of any sort fit my absurdly shaped head.

People who are perfectly normal and well-adjusted use the term, writing them all off as fedora-wearing mouthbreathers is premature and reeks of unhealthy stereotyping itself. They might be best served expressing their frustration in different ways, but w/e.

From what I've seen most people don't use the term 'friend zone' to assign blame, it's more an expression of regret that a romantic interest wasn't reciprocated in a case where regret is most likely; being shot down by a stranger in a club or w/e doesn't really sting, but being rejected...

It would be unnecessarily restrictive though if you're budgeting based on just ordering everything in one go from a store. People will gladly donate a lot of cheap commons/uncommons, and you can easily get stuff in bulk.

I don't see Unexpectedly Absent being a 4-of in every white deck or whatever, but it fits neatly into decks like Miracles as a 1/2-of to handle problematic permanents. Toxic Deluge is mainly for Elves, Goblins, Death and Taxes, Maverick, and so on. Sure, it's awkward if it gets countered...
