    Duplicate Sealed: The Pile

Yeah, I agree that this is a sweet idea. I think Worldknit is a bad idea, but only because a 200 card deck is huge, which makes it tricky to shuffle. If you're looking for a Conspiracy that creates a one-card alternate format, may I suggest Sovereign's Realm? ... The mana base feels a bit...

    1) If you think about it, "burn any target for X" is just an upgraded version of "swing in for X". :p 2) I feel like I'd honestly prefer Fertilid to Purestrain Genestealer if I was looking for a 3-mana creature who can ramp me, simply because " {1}{G}, remove a counter: do the thing" is more...

Zoanthrope - {X}{U}{R} Creature - Tyrannid Ravenous (This creature enters the battlefield with X +1/+1 counters on it. If X is 5 or more, draw a card.) Flying, Ward 2 When Zoanthrope enters the battlefield, it deals X damage to any target. 0/0 So... it turns out that, if you make Shivan...

It also kinda makes sense that Old One Eye is so pushed, since it's intended for a 4+ player format where everyone has double life. In that context, getting a 6/6 and a 5/5 isn't that crazy. It's just that it's wildly pushed for any format where you don't need to chew through that much health.

I feel like 11 trampling power for 6 split across two bodies, which you can pretty easily recur if dealt with, is a little too pushed for my tastes.

Deathleaper is interesting. I'm not sure how strong it is, but it's interesting. The other cards that have been spoiled are a little too... commander-y for my tastes?

The person who didn't talk about how cool it is gets to come up with an embarrassing nickname for that creature, which is now its legal name for the rest of the game.

I mean, at that point you might as well make something up. "Oh, yeah, there's actually a once-per-turn limit on talking about how cool any given creature is. Birgi lets you do it twice, which is cool but kinda useless."

I mean, if you want the memeiest deck... 4x Throes of Chaos 1x Tibalt's Trickery 1x Battle of Wits 224x Mountains 16% of the time it works every time! EDIT: On second thought, I'm pretty sure the combo turn violates the Geneva Convention. So maybe don't.

You mean, like, literally anything? I get bored with goodstuff really easily. We're talking total snoozefest. EDIT: Just to clarify, I'm not saying that it's wrong to like goodstuff. It's just that I, personally, rapidly lose interest when the game goes from "work towards an overarching plan"...

Quick note as I run out the door... If you're uninterested in supporting midrange, the axis you should be looking at is Power vs. Synergy. You want to dissuade people from drafting 5c goodstuff? Make 5c goodstuff suck. Homework: find a way to do so that's actually fun.

The memory issue is a problem, yeah. As for the taplands thing... honestly, blacksmithy probably has the right idea if your aggressive decks have go under other decks to work properly (and aren't based on, say, trading card advantage for snowballing on-board value). ... A kinda-incoherent...

The reason I picked the Thriving lands over the Gates (even though the Gates were the actual cycle that made me think along these lines) is that the Gates might make a drafter go "ah, so this cube has Gate synergies", while Thriving Lands don't.

While this is true, it's important to keep in mind that fetches only achieve that flexibility if you have fetchable non-basics. If you only have basic Islands and Mountains in your deck, Scalding Tarn is basically just a funky Riverglide Pathway. (This is just stating the obvious, sure, but it...

On a different land-related note... I feel like this cycle is the best cycle of dual lands WotC has ever printed, as far as drafting is concerned. Thriving Heath Thriving Isle Thriving Moor Thriving Bluff Thriving Grove You see, each one is secretly four different dual lands, and you choose...
