Tone-wise I think you want things that are more along the lines of mtglampoon, if you want it to be endorsed by somebody who writes for a major site.

It's cool protection but a 1/1 for 2 needs considerably more bonuses than that, I think. 2/1 and we'd be good to go.

I would consider myself extremely apathetic towards them. Maybe slightly negative. Hate is too strong for what I feel.

Most PWs are at their best in aggro. Diversified threats are really tough for a control deck to deal with.
