Also, GRBS is only GR or BS if your other cards allow it to be. Your midrange deck is probably losing to Grave Titan or Wurmcoil Engine, but if your midrange deck has a Grave Titan it doesn't care as much about a Wurmcoil Engine (and vice versa). Obviously stuff like Channel -> Emrakul is going...

Yes, but you could say the same thing verbatim about the white/red aggro cards and people seem to treat their presence as a given. Maybe that's because there are few other things you can do with those colours while blue has an embarrassment of riches, but unsurprisingly aggro is more interesting...

I really like the +1 - it's very healthy to have a cheap, card-drawing planeswalker that doesn't create an avalanche of card advantage if not dealt with. I agree that the -2 is very out of place though.

The last bit might be true in ideal world where the win percentage is exactly 50%, but if it's slanted even 1% in favour of playing first it's basically never correct to draw.

Definitely tempted to revisit Harm's Way now.

If you push aggro and (in/)directly punish control by cutting down on cheap removal, games will naturally come down to the die roll a lot more. Planeswalkers are the biggest offender here, since it's much easier for the advantage they create to 'snowball' into something insurmountable.

Safekeeper is good if you have the typical non-kosher creatures to protect it with. If you're guarding a Baneslayer with it, great; if it's next to an Acidic Slime, not so much.

Profane Command

Staples are also highly cube-dependent i.e. I would never cut Primeval Titan from my main cube but might not even consider including it in a less powerful, more synergy-based cube. Rather than just post a list of my favourite cards, I'll cite something like Noble Hierarch. It's hard to imagine...

Inspired at least occupies some interesting design space, tribute is just awful.

I looooove Thaumaturge 9CC Minotaur please FWIW Dictate seems clearly much better than Collective Blessing to me

I hate Athreos just because I know I'm going to have to read 'Atheros' in articles for the next two years.

YES I am hopeless at it

We have a single-card spotlight thread, but I thought it might be useful to draw attention to random synergies (not the obvious two-card combos, but just cards that happen to work well together): Wolfir Silverheart Murderous Redcap Snapcaster Mage Brimstone Volley
