Huh. These two never overlapped in a core set:
Intrepid Hero Infantry Veteran
Between them they had 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, M11, M13... and not once together!
I totally would have tried to live that dream.
Simic Charm
Maybe? It's a little... thematically doesn't hang together, if that makes sense. But it sure does have modes.
Quandrix Command
kind of along the same lines but worse at protecting your own idiot
we have
Self-Destruct
now! You can do fun things when your creature has a bigger butt than front! This doesn't do much for RG specifically obviously, but you know, target your Brimaz, King of Oreskos or very small Vivi Ornitier or whatever.
Americans typically use "every part of the buffalo" (indigenous to America) but the British equivalent I've heard (and Terry Pratchett used) was "every part of the pig but the squeal" - I think you can get away with most animals that can be eaten, honestly!
(this is the kind of post I'm...
You said RG and discard!
Rydia, Summoner of Mist
(the Saga bit is an additive distraction. maybe you have Summon: Fenrir? that one's strong, there's some value here if you do have any, but she's here to be Rummaging Goblin+++.)
Plus here's everything else I know, which I would recommend far...
It's the same token as on Invasion of New Phyrexia / Invasion of Beleron / Knight of the Coalition / my favorite of this list of cards by a mile, Xerex Strobe-Knight.
...this is not an answer, though.
honestly I think it's in the same position it was in a decade ago - it's not that great against pure control despite leaving a 3/3 behind when it dies, it's real good in midrange mirrors, and it's backbreakingly strong against aggro because 5 life is so much - if slightly less good. like it...
I am honestly convinced that someone with decision making pull thinks that players love the Omenpaths.
Not like, in the sense of "they are good to let us tell stories and not have to focus on planeswalkers", but like "the reception of this story will be better - completely regardless of all...
I thiiink the five students are Quintorius/Zimone/Maybe Dina/And You Were There!!! (for some random value of new idiots)
like I think we aren't getting Killian or Rootha? so some new faces
edit: to be clear this is a shame because Rootha, Mercurial Artist was one of the most fun retail...
Couple new spoilers today:
The return of -1/-1 counters as a named set mechanic! A joke about Incremental Blight goes here! Proliferate and convoke, I like both of those!
I think I'd prefer Honor of the two.
Have you considered Scout's Warning and/or Bandage? They do very different things, but both of them sort-of-protect your creatures better than either of those two. I think the novelty of playing Bandage might be worth it too, because that's funny.
I was 13 in 2003. Torment came out. You better believe it was both my favorite set and the one I bought the most of. My monoblack deck feasted! Judgement... not so much. And to this day I can't spell it with the E without hesitating and pausing to add it. Same as Dissension, which is...
