Gives me Vengevine vibes

Sorry I mean vengevibes.

Darklight Phoenix is such a cool card. I fear that my love of it will be singular in my playgroup, like the often in-and-out Vengevine, but perhaps this what was needed to put that deck over-the-top. Maybe I will get that self-milling 1-drop in too.

I've been waiting for our Good Boy! I'm not even a dog guy, but I love the OG Yoshimaru and have been eager to see what they'd do with him here. Yoshimaru, Beloved Companion is...well, he's

I'm running Michelangelo, Weirdness to 11, which has two distinct advantages over the little pooch: coming in with an artifact friend (first hit is free-ish) and only asking you for a two-mana investment. The +1/+1 counters matters theme in my Cube has become especially pronounced this year, and I'm happy to support it, but I think this is a little too far. I think I'm more likely to include Brad Boimler, Eager Ensign than Yoshimaru, but even that's a stretch. wtwlf123 is running Benevolent Hydra last I checked, and that's not such an unreasonable comp to Yoshimaru, if you really think about it.

Still, I like how many of these effects we've gotten in recent years, as they've delighted the heck out of my Commander-brained friend group.

Sureshot Sower is a clean design that I'm happy exists in the game. It's going in my Bar Cube for sure, but I delight at a good 3/1 with upside at common being more present in Modern Magic, as it doesn't feel like power creep yet still feels like an exploration of the game's design space that's not been plumbed yet.

Curse-Marred Demon is sick. As with above, it's a shoe-in for my Bar Cube, but I think it's a few years too late for my main Cube, as much as I like the Gamble effect attached to such an efficient dude.

Also a huge fan of this guy. Clean. This is shaping up to be a stealth Modern Horizons set with the last batch of spoilers coming out this week.

This is 100% Time Spiral 2.0 / Modern Horizons 4 and I love it so much for that. Seasoned Cyromancer is excellent, and I adore cards that can be cast from your graveyard / love sitting in your yard, especially at instant speed.

I'm already running Kiora, the Rising Tide, which I still like more than the Cyromancer for the story equity (and since the Cryomancer's tap down is merely fine), but I think I like Cyromancer more than Steamcore Scholar and Jadzi, Steward of Fate, both of whom are excellent. That said, it's hard to find room in my blue creatures, as each one has to do a lot to justify itself compared to a spell, since blue is perfectly fine playing creatures from other creatures. Add to that the double blue pips in the cost, and we've got a challenging sell. Still, I want to buy it.

I hope Molten Tide exists as a standalone card at some point.

I have the same interest in this as Way of the Necromancer, I think both of them are insanely good if supporting creature loops. Also the art on this in one in particular is gorgeous.

Cool Koth variant, might be hard to squeeze in due to the competition at white 3s but he is a pretty solid Fastbond card

Traxos, Academy Guardian is sweet. Reminds me a lot of Illusory Angel, who was in my Cube for 6-7 years back in the day. Unfortunately, it's probably worse, but I can't help but love this card's design and sensibilities. I love how it tells you what kind of deck to make with it in so few words. Definitely going in the Bar Cube, wish it had 1-2 more power to justify this wall (truly a guardian!) for my main Cube.

Agreed. It's also a card that keeps the dream alive for some ideas of generic green aggro and WG humans in my cube.

This guy doesn't look like much, but it seems so easy to trigger the untap giving pseudo vigilance should he have good attacks or just loot a lot. Big fan for slightly lower power level than mine.
As many looters as we have, I still don't have the perfect one. To me, a 3/2 for 3 is a little too strong to also have a zero mana looting effect, plus this one untaps for some extra loots. I think Captain of Umbar is closer to the mark for me. Something between Erratic Visionary and Kitsa, Otterball Elite would be nice, so hopefully we'll keep seeing different looter variants.
