General I just play it for the flavour text, I swear!

We've got a terrible flavour text thread but I don't think there's one for cards with genuinely good writing in italics. The obvious contender is the Love Song of Night and Day, which contrasted with current f.t. looks like, well, night and day. And once upon a time Magic used more literary quotes (the removal of T.S. Eliot's work from Wasteland is a tragedy). Plus, they were on a Shakespeare kick, and Romance of the Three Kingdoms with P3K:

What are some of your favourite flavour texts? Do you cube any marginal cards because their flavour pushes them into your list? Right now I like:

Must've been in the art description.

The MM/8E Cowardice flavor text is good too (not in a Shakespeare way though), but the art is not as funny. The flavor text and art should have been swapped.

I don't like this flavor text because for the longest time the seemingly stray apostrophe after 'Invincible' confused me. It still bothers me a little bit. :(

Fair. Pretty much any quote flavor text would be better without the quote baggage. I just always thought it was good for what the card does paired with the set it was printed in (ROE). You can get a mild chuckle that Gideon is also referring to himself, though we didn't really know what his deal was back then.
