So I streamed a bunch of this but wasn't very familiar with OBS and kind of floundered through the configuration. Because of that, that stream didn't get archived (i fixed it so future ones will). That's convenient for me, because I would've needed to edit some of the footage, but a real darn shame because there were some pretty good games on there. I'd like to thank the people who came and hung out in the stream, and hopefully I'll do another one some time soon, this was a blast.

Here's my deck, tbh I'm kinda match commentary'd out. Maybe someone who watched wants to fill in?

I watched bits and pieces of the three games against Dom. I believe you went 0-3.

You couldn't get a blue source in either the first or second games, which left too many cards stranded in your hand.
I remember the important turn in game two where you attacked with an Eternal Witness and a Seeker of the Way into Dom's Auger of Bolas and Young Pyromancer (+ Token). Dom blocked favourably, then you attempted to Restoration Angel, which he Venser, Shaper Savanted. At the end of that all that was left was Venser and Auger of Bolas. Which slowly beat you down. You tried to bait out the Condescend with the Resto Angel (She saw it in the Fact or Fiction) to try and resolve a Collected Company, but the creatures were bounced by a Mystic Confluence next turn and you couldn't come back from that.
Game 3 Dom got an early Young Pyromancer and just road it to victory. I only just looked at your deck and noticed there is very little removal, which may have been the problem.

Dom cast Mystic Confluence in who different games. Once to counter a Banisher Priest and draw two cards, the other to bounce the two creatures that came out of a Collected Company and drew a card. It always felt like such the blowout card. Too stronk? I don't know...

Did you feel you had enough blue sources in the deck for those double blue cards?

No, I definitely misbuilt my mana! My biggest problem was that I picked up fetches and a blue dual but no blue fetches, so my only play was to, like, Bloodstained Mire for it.

-Anafenza was great
-I didn't play that well and was fiddling with the stream, so I kept getting thrown out of it and didn't really think longterm goals
-As an example, I jumped the gun with my Resto on a board of Ghost Mom, Wisp, Helicopter Parents, Thopter token, losing the wisp in the process. Not a good look.
-mystic confluence is absurd but tbf so is cryptic, and as strong as Confluence is the tap all creatures mode on Cryptic is much stronger, so i'm not sure if I want MC as well. It's always been good but it hasn't been unbeatable; I'm actually more concerned about Fact or Fiction tbh.
-I could've left up 3 with the Banisher Priest cast, costing him a card drawn, but didn't think to play around MC. The tempo hit was real bad.

I watched games 2 and 3! It was real cool 8) My favourite part of watching Magic streams is stealing ideas for my own Cube, so my comments are skewed towards that (I take notes and evaluate as I watch like a nerd). Anyway, some of my thoughts:
- I realize there's a potential way higher upside to Cryptic Command with the "tapdown, swing, gg" play, but the bounce, draw, and/or counter modes of Mystic Confluence seem much more punishing. Cryptic is also {U}{U}{U}, which makes it feel a lot fairer imho since it's very demanding and the reward is equal to the cost. I think Dom played a great game and I am absolutely not trying to invalidate his win for it, but damn, that Mystic Confluence is super bonkers and seems just like such an unconditional blowout way too often to lead to good games of Magic imho
- Anafenza, Kin-Tree Spirit is really cool
- Young Pyromancer was extremely awesome and was very well piloted, A+
- CoCo continues to make green fun and I love seeing it
- Seeing the match play out, I was having a hard time seeing the use of Sphinx's Revelation; it's super cool, but it's a very expensive play. It looks like an insurance policy, but I'm not sure if it can be cashed in when you're behind, and it may actually just be good when you're even or ahead, which makes me a little shy on whether I'd actually want to include it myself. I'd love to be told I'm wrong about this though
- safra has great taste in music and is an A+ commentator

Maybe the trick is to pack revelation for flooding and something else for screwing and then you'll never be caught with your pants down!

Maybe the trick is to pack revelation for flooding and something else for screwing and then you'll never be caught with your pants down!

That's a terrible idea. Blue has enough card selection for significantly cheaper to help manage flooding. If you're literally mana flooded, casting Sphinx's Rev on T6 to draw 3 cards is not gonna do nearly enough and would be outclassed by a simple Ponder to draw into gas (which also fixes mana screw).

Rev is a sub on MODO because Absorb was more expensive at the time. I'll be picking up utility lands and some other stuff online to fiddle with my online cube more before we start this Super Series thing. A few of the gold slots are pretty slapdash, and i'm sure I can find a better blue five than the Confluence.
